Bill Maher strikes again!

Ever since the debut of "Politically Incorrect", comedian/actor/social commentator Bill Maher has pretty much garnered praise and condemnation for every side of the political/social/religious/economic fence in America. As such, there have been many times when I've strongly disagreed with him, but there have also been times when I've said, " Good on ya for publicly saying that, Bill!". This clip falls into the latter category:

Its a shame what happened to him.

Once long ago he was relevant.

Wow, that was a stupid thing for you to say. Clearly, you can't readily (if ever) logically contradict a lot of what he's saying here.

If he was saying EVERYTHING that you agree with, you wouldn't try to be so snide.

That is either a lie by you or you've got some psychological issues on this subject, as you took time and effort to listen and then post a response.
 
I watched Bill back in the Politically Incorrect days. He is so brilliant. Our politics are usually completely opposite, he is predominantly left leaning but incredibly smart. He was right about Iraq from the jump, that's for sure.
 
Which side actually claims Maher to be one of them at this point? He is all over the place with his political opinions...and terrible jokes.
 
I used to enjoy Maher.

Now...his jokes are bad...and he takes himself WAY too seriously.

I wish he would get back to where he was, because my wife never misses his show, and I am just bored with him.

Well, you have to remember that he is an actor getting ratings for his program. Over the years, I've only been able to catch him a few times, so his self contradiction level hasn't been tallied yet. Still, he's said some things that I've thought, "whoa, isn't that kind of against your whole reason for being on tv?" That's what makes him interesting....he's not just a parrot for the left or right wing.

As for the jokes, 75 to 80% funny to me.

Bill is still traumatized by his old show being cancelled. It was his own fault, but he'll never get over it. Fuck the poor narcissist.

It matters to me because Bill's attacking Democrats with his "woke" bullshit. He might be right. Some Democrats might be too, "woke", but they're the only party defending our democracy.

See, there's the problem....the nano-second someone criticizes the other political party, they're demonized. Forget the content of the critique, whether it be accurate, true or not. Just go after them, and if you can't totally discredit the content, damn them with feint praise.

And I'm REALLY fucking tired of everyone using the "woke" excuse for their diatribes. I dismissed the origin as just another cutesy phrase used by some wanna-be activist or author to gain attention ... who knew that the rabid right wing would co-opt it as a "boogey man" phrase for everything they're against.

Oh well, stupid is as stupid does. Just don't get caught up in the hype.
