Boris Johnson humiliated.

@Tom

Can no-confidence votes be used to remove MPs, or just members of the government?

I'd say that any MP who both voted against no-deal and against this deal (and opposed new elections), but survives the next general election deserves to be tossed-out as a pestilence upon the kingdom.

Boris removed the whip from 21 MPs, that means they can't stand as Conservative candidates at the next election.

The moron kicked out Winston Churchill's grandson and the Father of the House. Haw, haw.............................haw.
Bozzie is a bully-boy and should be opposed regardless of WHAT he does . He's already embarrassed parliamentary protocol to a degree not witnessed since Enoch Powell urinated on the speaker. Haw, haw.............................haw.

That's before Johnson's withdrawal agreement was revealed. Now, who knows?

You need more delay, something might turn up!

The point is, all this closely resembles general elections: with our one-party media we hear very little indeed against whoever the tories put in power except when they have to allow free expression for a few weeks. As we saw last time, it shifts opinion very fast.

Some of them spoke. Far more didn't than did.

I for one don't think the people of the UK are dense. Is there some magic number of persons who must
turn out to vote in order to make an election valid in your mind?

It was a simple question 3 years ago. Do you want to remain in the EU or leave the EU?

No, they're not - but given the current lack of choice, they will do silly things to score off the powers-that-be. The question, all the time, is did the people have the faintest notion of what it was all about in the Referendum? They didn't. and they don't: that's why we need a new mob vote, before we give up this undemocratic mob-politics for ever.

Corbyn is a slimy cunt, hopefully he and that equally odious twat McDonnell will be consigned to the dustbin of history very soon.

There will still be free trade between UK and EU, no? Wasn't that a main concern?

NO, there won't - there'll be negotiations for ever and ever and ever.

Terms of trade between Britain and the EU remain to be negotiated. But the EU has a large trade surplus with Britain - why would they want to obstruct that?

Also, the major economies of the EU are on the brink of recession. A trade war is something they could do without.

Because most of the countries of the EU have no such thing, I expect: you tend to live in this dream-world or German dictatorship rather, don't you?

The UK had an overall trade deficit of -£64 billion with the EU in 2018. A surplus of £29 billion on trade in services was outweighed by a deficit of -£93 billion on trade in goods.

So in the coming trade negotiations, the EU is going to hold out for high tariffs on goods?

It's not all bad news, though; the UK had a trade surplus of £44 billion with non-EU countries.

MPs are "shattering trust in democracy" by paralysing the delivery of the referendum result, the former Lord Chief Justice has claimed.

Lord Judge said the "crucial issue" in the debate over Britain's exit from the European Union is no longer the terms of the withdrawal agreement, but the "profound damage" to the public's confidence in their politicians.

"What the majority of the public, whether they voted for or against Brexit, cannot understand is why we the politicians have not resolved the issue," said Lord Judge, who headed the judiciary in England and Wales between 2008 and 2013.

"They voted in a referendum, they voted at a general election in which both main parties went to the country promising to honour the result, and the public is still waiting."

Lord Judge insisted that the "chilling" lesson of history is that disillusionment leads to citizens being "beguiled" by individuals and parties which they realise could lead the country to even greater political chaos and uncertainty.

Germany has now gone into recession, as I predicted many times they are now shitting themselves.

Germany tumbles into recession as global trade tensions, disruption to car industry and worries over Brexit take their toll
