BREAKING:colorado school shooting

Excellent point.

The other side of it is mental health, and access to medicine. Unfortunately the conservatives aren't helping on that either. Trumps behavior examples are a huge negative impact as well. Some say video games, but they have worse in other countries, and they don't have gun issues. People have to face it, that all these other countries have the same issues we have, but don't have the access to guns, or the gun culture. They also don't have all these shootings. What's screwed up is it's often been ex-pats in other countries that have been involved in shootings there. It's the gun culture, and the access. People can argue until blue, but those are the only statistics that add up. No need to get rid of guns, but reinstating what was fine to live under, in the 90's, and an attitude adjustment would do wonders. The NRA has way too much corrupting influence in America.

When I was a youngun we used to go to schools with guns in our cars. Especially during huntin season. Never a problem

The problem isn’t guns

That is it. Right here. So what changed?

The kind of guns, and the attitudes in handling them. The NRA was also a gun control advocate, and not the money influence freak it is today. All those violent video games, and everything else, is the same in other countries. They don't have the gun culture, influence, and access though. They also have ready access to healthcare, to handle mental health issues.

The attitude in handling them. That is a big part of it I think. I like many on this board was raised with guns around. Parents, adults, everyone taught you to respect the weapon. It was not a toy. That respect for things taught by parents and communities has faded over the years.

There were plenty of guns around when I was young yet kids weren’t shooting up schools like today. Why is that?

Because back then; people weren't a collection of entitled whiney snowflakes and they took responsibility for their actions, instead of acting like they're victims.

Statistically, not as many as there are out there today, and the real problem isn't the guns, but the easy access to too many guns, anyone who really wants a weapon can get one

How is this any different from a time when someone could walk into several stores, purchase a firearm, and take it home?

It was very easy to get a gun in Oakland in the ‘80’s and ‘90’s, and this was pre-internet, yet kids weren’t shooting up schools. So something has changed. What is it that makes kids today want to shoot up their schools that kids (for the most part) from previous generations didn’t?

My first rifle was a Christmas present that was bought at a Hardware Store.

I purchased my first pistol at a K-Mart in Phoenix, with no background check.

Where were all the "mass shootings", during those times??

Well, that is where we disagree, I still say it is the easy access to too many guns, and you appear looking for some cultural reason

Then why weren't their "mass shootings" prior to all the "regulations" being put into affect; because there was a time when access to any gun was really easy??

Until people care enough about the kids to harden the schools and protect them. Why is it so fucking difficult, you people are fucking idiots.

Comes right back to; why are the majority of these shootings happening at places that are designated as "gun free zones"??

excellent point........we have more shootings now than we did back in the day when you could stop at the hardware store and buy a gun on the way home from work........
