Why not make the trip and file a police report in the county where the alleged crime took place?

Election day is less than 5 weeks away, early voting starts next week in some places. Open enrollment starts mid-next month too and that's going to be brutal for the GOP because their Russia Tax Cut is what will cause the massive premium increases for insurance.
The GOP is probably going to be wiped out this Fall. Democrats may actually gain control of the Senate.
