Yeah, except I hate it when they get too complicated. How about :ddd:? and people will have to think about me when they use it.

Hijacked for the greater good. And I think I had an even hand to play, as I pointed out the correct size.
tom must answer....
there will be no thread hijacking....
He's not online right now. We'll give it back before ya know it. And in all fairness, YOU posted the wonderful.

Is he to answer your combined opinion?
It seems to me there is little to answer unless you simply want to demonstrate more of your dyed in the wool stupidity. It is unlikely you will accept any fact or any evidence presented by anyone who is not in lockstep with you culture of 'America always wins and America can do no wrong'.
But I'll leave it to him.
I think the US contribution was the least in terms of taking down Germany. Of course, without America the USSR and Britian maybe never would've taken down Japan, and would've had to settle peacefully with the Japanese empire (throwing all of the Chinese and such they had conquered into the fire in the process).
And all the material we supplied the Russian and British so they could continue their war effort? Our landing in North Africa and then in Italy?
Well we gave them material, but they gave much more in terms of men, especially Russia.
As I said up there I'm not sure it could have even been done without all three. Britian was extremely heroic in the beginning and Russia wore Hitler out. It's possible the two of them could have taken Germany down by themselves with the aid of the lend-lease program.
I don't think the war could've been won without all three, the USSR, Britian, and the US.
If the Battle of Britain is inspiring, you need to read Enemy At The Gates. One of the greatest books ever written.
agreed.... the story of the duel between Zeitsev (sp?) and the German sniper was very intriguing as a battle within the battle.
The sniper duel was only 3 paragraphs or so of the book. Anyone who wants to borrow a copy can ask, as they've become hard to find.
If my library cannot find a copy, I may take you up on that....

yeah... why not leave it to him given that he began the entire thing by making the statement and then refusing to elaborate on what made him think as he did. Then he made one excuse after another to refuse to answer it.
Your obsession with bashing America is yet again duly noted. It was mentioned by several on this board that we are interested in hearing differing views, especially from those in other countries especially when it comes to WWII.
It is unlikely your closed minded idiocy will ever allow you to see Americans in a good light. Your idiocy of pretending that we believe 'America can do no wrong' is pathetic. WE GET IT. YOU HATE AMERICANS.
