But but … isn’t fascism left-wing?

Is Trump a fascist?

Fascists employed expert liars like Goebbels, whereas Trump does his own. Hey, it's enough to fool a lot of dummies!

Also the Nazis never got a majority in a free election, whereas ... oh, right.

When fascism comes to America, it will come wrapped in the flag and waving a cross ...

Maybe a bargain basement fascist.

One trait of fascism is the use of power to nullify the rule of law. Like insurrectionists storming the Capitol.

Just because some idiot academics parrot each other doesn't mean they're correct. I've asked the question repeatedly, What makes Fascism Right wing? The answers I get don't explain that.

ahh, but you contradict yourself, as the very definitions you question or try to revise ... or for that matter the very definitions for the language you are currently using ... are defined, quantified and EXPLAINED by "academics". Case in point:

Definition of fascism
- often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

Definition of capitalism
- an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market

Definition of communism
- a theory advocating elimination of private property; a totalitarian system of government in which a single authoritarian party controls state-owned means of production

Definition of socialism
- any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

Definition of right wing
- the section of a political party or system that advocates for free enterprise and private ownership, and typically favors socially traditional ideas; the conservative group or section.

Definition of left wing
- the section of a political party or system that advocates for greater social and economic equality, and typically favors socially liberal ideas; the liberal or progressive group or section.

In my life time, I've noted that the "conservative" view (or right wing) purports a "free enterprise" without accountability or regulation to a large degree....which can and has led to monopolies that are protected through heavily campaign contributed congressional reps & collusion with private banks. Add to this the social mindset that this is a "christian nation" with an emphasis on "traditional (W.A.S.P.) values and edicts, and one can clearly see the road to fascism.

Socialism, while considered the way station between capialism and communism, has morphed into a firebreak between the two instead. One could contend that it's a tricky balance that has led more to "democratic socialism" than "pure socialism" ... although one can argue that there has rarely been "pre" of anything since the industrial revolution.
