Sorry Dude. It’s a Catch-22 thread and I was channeling Major Major’s father.

There is a missing chapter of Catch 22,that Playboy published years ago ,very funny chapter,I don't know why Joe Heller didn't include it!
Rana is Dori Duz!!
It's not even really anti-war. The whole comedy of the book, and it's events, and even how the story is structured, is pointing out the absurdity of how people use circular reasoning logical fallacies to make decisions. Particularly in times of crisis, like war.
From my perspective it's about how absurd and inefficient government is...
From my perspective it's about how absurd and inefficient government is...
So much more than that!
Things like Yossarian and the woman having the deep discussion about the God they don't believe in.
It's about everything in the outside world.
From my perspective it's about how absurd and inefficient government is...
You mean, from your screwy backasswards perspective...Unfortunately, your screwy backasswards perspective is so fucked up it means absolutely nothing.
I'm sorry you didn't understand the book.
I read it as a teenager...
I read it as a teenager...
Liar.
You're just saying that because we did.
You probably didn't even know it was a book until you saw this thread.
At best, you saw a promo ad for the new TV series and didn't think twice about it.
Or it was a long time ago and I remember the most how he demonstrated the stupidity of government institutions (including the military of course), as that helped shape my attitude about government in general. So did I.
Catch-22 has multiple themes but the two most important themes are;
The absurdity of circular reasoning.
How hierarchical institutions abuse power.
On the later Heller scewered more than government bureaucracies. He also satirized the military, religion and corporations, etc,.
So you must have missed the chapters on Major Major, Milo Minderbinder and Chief White Halfoat, where he lampoons big business. That or you didn’t understand them.
Or it was a long time ago and I remember the most how he demonstrated the stupidity of government institutions (including the military of course), as that helped shape my attitude about government in general.
No, I'm saying it because I read it as a teenager.
So tell us which specific "government institutions" he "demonstrated the stupidity of" outside of the military.
Did he demonstrate the stupidity of tax increases? Gun legislation? Environmental regulations? Liberal court decisions? Illegal immigration? Gay rights?
I mention those particular "government institutions" because I know those are the ones you right-wing goobers hate the most and, having read the book myself countless times, I can't remember outside of the military command hierarchy, any non-military "government institutions" being ridiculed or having their stupidity demonstrated.
Hence, the reason why I still don't believe you read it any more than I believe you're an engineer or that you own those two houses or the car in your creepy ass video.
