Christian Family Values?

Maybe we’ll get to see what good ‘christians’ congressional Democrats are when the GOP immigration bill comes up lol.

The surest way to make sure that your opposition will reject a bill is to put a poison pill in it. In this case, it's funding for the wall. Then when rejected, you can scream to the morons of your base "See? They don't care about the ___, they just want to play politics!"

If I were a (D) legislator, I would negotiate publicly by saying "Okay, we will endorse the funding for the wall, but we are going to fund it by cutting an equal amount of money from ____ [pet programs of the (R)s like defense budget]."

"

That's the Republican plan. " If you really want to keep little babies from crying you will choke down the Berlin Wall of the southern border."

Setting aside the prevention of refugees from entering the US so that can claim asylum as allowed by Law, the breaking up of families has reached a new low that any one calling themselves "christian" should be disgusted by:

Notorious Trump-loving pastor forced to take down 'America is a Christian nation' billboard

USE-THIS--800x430.png

A church in Texas was forced to take down their “America is a Christian nation” billboard after it drew criticisms from the local government.

The city made Robert Jeffres, who pastors First Baptist Dallas, remove their sign after a negative news reports.

The Dallas Morning News published two articles calling the sign “hateful” and “divisive,” and Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings was quoted in the article agreeing with the statements.

The articles were then sent to Outfront Media, who created the billboard, and the company decided to remove the billboard. Outfront Media also canceled their contract with the church.

He is terribly whiny about it!

Not really. It’s an example of why most responsible politicians, including the majority of Republicans, view the populism used by Trump to appeal to the lowest classes by demonizing the poor, immigrants, ethnic/racial minorities and foreigners, for popular support as being grossly irresponsible. There is no doubt that appealing to the fears and resentments to the uninformed lower classes is a tried and true, though certainly cynical, political method to gain political support but these are the consequences of such irresponsible political behavior. Real human beings are harmed needlessly.

As if the plight of these immigrants isn’t bad enough. This isn’t enforcement of the law. This is what tyranny looks like.

And don’t think that tyranny can’t be turned against you if it becomes politically expedient to demonize a group you get lumped into.

<applause> Well said. I hope that this issue continues to get massive negative publicity, and that it is made crystal clear that this separation of families is NOT existing law; it is a Trump Administration policy that is being used to force upon us what they want. I suspect that the majority of those who usually vote (R) are not as stupid and easily duped as the drooling Trumpanzee cretins we see here. I hope that this is true.

And yet it is the Leftists that are demanding we become a Theocracy, ... that our gov't ignore our laws and replace them with Christian or Islamic theology.

:dunno:

You sure have it completely backwards... Sessions and Pence and Jerry Falwell are Dominionists.

Hello Old Trapper,

I roll my eyes and shake my head at the CHRISTIAN HYPOCRITES who claim to follow the Bible, but then pick and choose only the parts they WANT and ignore the rest of it.

I can hear all the plaintive whines about "persecution" from here, can't you?

WTF is wrong with that guy? He and his ilk constantly bleat that liberals are atheists and hate Xtians. So how can we be that yet want a theocracy?

Typical Trump voter.

Pharisees, hypocrites... is highly appropriate for Trump's evangelicals.

No, JPP is inundated with Leftist threads and posts ... enraged that we are not a Christian theocracy, that the gov't is not obeying the Bible. It is the Leftists that now want to abolish the separation of church and State.

nice slam against populism..do I look sound like the uneducated masses?
but wait - you used the term "uninformed lower classes" even worse bias.

That is elitist claptrap, and a real reason Trump was elected- to push back on the out of touch globalists/statists

[h=1]Racial Fear Is Key to Trump's Support Among Evangelicals[/h]
Janelle Wong: “My research indicates white evangelical conservatism correlates strongly with their perceptions anti-white discrimination, even after taking into account economic status, party, age and region. Fully 50 percent of white evangelical respondents to our 2016 survey reported feeling they face discrimination that’s comparable to, or even higher than, the discrimination they believe Muslim Americans face. Those who hold this perception are more likely to hold conservative attitudes on issues as wide-ranging as climate change, tax policy and health-care reform.”

Here’s what is not behind these beliefs: economic anxiety. Like PRRI and political scientist Diana Mutz, I find economic anxiety isn’t a primary reason for supporting Trump. Rather, white evangelicals fear losing racial status. White evangelicals’ perceptions they’re the targets of discrimination – more so than other groups — influence far more than simply their votes for Trump.”

Yes, 80 percent of white evangelicals supported Donald Trump in 2016. And the racial fears and anxieties that underlie their support for the president will probably remain the driver in their political views long after he leaves office.”

^ what kind of crap is that? Who is "Taegan Goddard"? racialist garbage.

Evengelicals are almost all concerned with religious freedom -in case you haven't noticed it's a hot button
issue that is constantly in front of the courts/SCOTUS for rulings
