DEMOCRAT-CONTROLLED

One in five Californians live in poverty, according to a U.S. Census Bureau report.

Using the Supplemental Poverty Measure, which accounts for regional cost-of-living, the average poverty rate in California from 2014 through 2016 stood at 20.4 percent, the highest among the states. The national average over that period of time was 14.7 percent.

California has consistently topped national rankings of poverty. While the state only accounts for about 12 percent of the national population, for example, Californians comprise one-third of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families beneficiaries.

California’s unfortunate distinction includes being home to approximately 22 percent of the nation’s homeless population

The Tax Foundation ranked California 48th in its 2017 State Business Tax Climate Index due to California’s distinction of having some of the highest income, sales and corporate tax rates in the nation.

Is this your front yard, you pathetic piece of shit?

Liberal states have a high homeless population because it's expensive to live there. Know why? Because people would rather sleep on the streets in CA than live in a house in Kentucky. Conservative-led states are ABSOLUTE HELLHOLES.

Bawahahaha, so only 531 people voted in the election? Or is 304-227 the electoral count? You know there is a difference between the popular vote and the electoral vote?

I do wish you were clever, funny and smart; but boorish, stupid and dishonest are the only adjectives that come to mind.

Meh, most polling like that is rather meaningless.

They largely use internal polling.

Correct. That's one of many problems with it.

In my experiences, a lot of young people are indeed like that, but plenty aren't, though.

I agree. I doubt that Biden will be able to generate the necessary enthusiasm levels to beat Trump in November.

I can't speak for other States, but here in my State of Wisconsin, I can already see this playing out. In Dane County, I see Bernie signs everywhere. Dane County LOVES Bernie and they would turn out for him in high numbers. There is nowhere near that same level of enthusiasm for Biden. I expect turnout in Dane and Milwaukee Counties for him to be similar to the low turnout that Hillary saw in 2016.

Trump, in 2016, had similar issues to Hillary with regard to turnout. Waukesha, Ozaukee, and Washington Counties (the "Milwaukee suburbs") all had rather low turnout for Trump. See, the densely populated areas of Wisconsin wanted NEITHER candidate in 2016 (They wanted Bernie and Ted instead). However, what worked out in Trump's favor in WI in 2016 was his very strong rural support from many of the lowly populated counties up north. Their support was enough to push him over the top.

Fast forward to 2020. There is still the same low enthusiasm for an "establishment Democrat" such as Biden, but the Milwaukee suburbs have warmed up to Trump since 2016. They've seen what Trump has done and they are largely pleased with it. And in lesser populated areas, Trump support is as strong as it's ever been, maybe even stronger. People put the effort into carving a large "Trump 2020" text into the ice on Lake Winnebago a few months ago. Some people have also put the effort into mowing large "Trump 2020" text into their fields. In Wisconsin, enthusiasm for Trump is very high right now. I don't see that same level of enthusiasm for Biden in Dane and Milwaukee Counties. I'd actually be surprised if Trump DIDN'T win Wisconsin in November...

EDIT: Even looking at myself in 2016, I was rather luke-warm towards Trump. I preferred Ted, as I thought Ted to be the more "conservative" candidate. In the primary, I knew Ted was going to win, so I voted for Trump in the primary just for the hell of it. In November 2016, I liked Trump's very direct style of debating (ie, he didn't just let Hillary walk all over him) and I liked the fact that FINALLY someone was directly standing up to the media's bullshit. I was still luke-warm about what his policies might be like, and was still a luke-warm supporter (I voted for him solely as a vote AGAINST Democrat Marxism). However, now that 2020 has rolled around and I've "seen Trump in action", I largely like what I have seen. He's been more conservative in his policies than I thought he'd be (he's made some bonehead policy decisions against conservatism, but for the most part he's done quite well). This time around, I am quite enthused about him and am actively supporting him rather than simply voting against Democrat Marxism. I'm sure that I'm not the only one.

Well, there ya go! :)

despite our occasional differences, I must admit you certainly can punk a bitch.

Another massive pile of stupid. You seem to be quite full of it. ;)

Hello Survivorman,

Me calling Biden a senile old man is no disrespect to you unless you are he.

Agreed. And that is how it was taken.

The warning is a standard one I make newcomers aware of. I do appreciate civil discourse, which is not the norm here, so I just like to make sure people understand up front that if discourse with me erodes into getting personal, then I cut it off permanently. And now that that is out of the way, let us get on to great discussions!

Biden was not my first choice, but I am so strongly opposed to DT that I swore I would support the Dem nominee no matter who. I swore to vote blue no matter who. I am now standing behind my word.

Biden is the man to take down DT.

My first choice was actually Marianne Williamson.

Only love conquers hate.

The house is on fire. You don't fight that fire with more fire. You need water.

If hatred is fire, then love is the water.

I've read Marianne Williamson, she has been on my radar for years, I was surprised to learn that she was running for the Democrat nomination. She's more suited to being a poet than a politician. I've already said what I think of Biden. Ask yourself this: can either one of them stand up to Trump in a debate? I say no.

No, you need a copy of the US Constitution. You very clearly do not understand how our election system works...
Lol, yeah I just posted it for you. The Founders created the Electorate because they thought people like you were too stupid to chose the President. I think you’re the one that needs to read the history of voting.
