Colleges Wonder if They Will Be ‘the Enemy’ Under Trump

Not at all. Try keeping the fuck up walt. Educating people is good. What you teach them and who teaches it isnt automatically good because its done in a "university". How can you people be so simple?
If you do not like our universities, invent your own. If your ideas are as good as you claim, everyone will rush to your universities.

It has been 60 years that the right wing has been complaining about universities, and still no good right wing universities to replace them.

You're not very bright are you?

Mr. Trump has said he thought that colleges needed to be reclaimed from “Marxist maniacs,” and his running mate, JD Vance, has described universities as “the enemy.” (Both men attended Ivy League institutions.)

I think ALL education. Republicans like dumb, low information voters, like people who don’t know Obamacare is ACA and that tariffs are good for low income people.

Yeah, I laughed at that as well (for multiple reasons). For starters, go back 15 years on this board and look at the threads where liberals call out conservatives for supporting free trade claiming that it only benefits the rich and thus they (conservatives) don't care about regular Americans. Now all of a sudden tariffs, which unions (the supposed little guy or working guy) have long supported, are bad. The reason of course is because Trump proposed them. Notice they went absolutely radio silent was Biden took office and left them in place (along with adding some of his own)? I don't recall hearing them speak out against tariffs when unions were asking for them previously. It's quite transparent. (And to be clear, I HATE tariffs - as one I'm one of the free traders who is against the average American, so I was told).

And I will not argue with the fact that there are plenty of low information voters out there. What I will acknowledge is they come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Most people use the term, like it's being used here, to simply describe people who vote differently than they do. We all fancy ourselves smart and educated and thus thinking people. Therefore if someone votes differently they must not be smart or informed. So stated in the way it's being used here it simply in a condescending manner.

Might be a great time to resurrect Trump University!

I know people who graduated college and are not very smart. I also know people who have not graduated college and are very smart. A formal education is not the sole measure of intelligence.

In a perfect world countries would not subsidize their industries and then dump products onto the world. China has devastated our steel industry by dumping low price steel onto our market. I think tariffs are needed to level the playing field at times.

Correct. It is not.

However the concept that education is unnecessary in all walks of life is equally wrong as well.
