Creationist child abusers close doors

nope.....that was Usscher, not the Bible....

No, liar, it is the Bible. Ussher merely did the tally and provided biblical references supporting it. You have absolutely no valid argument against it and your argument apparently relies on a revelations provided to you alone. But go ahead and give us a ballpark on how long ago the worldwide flood occurred?

drowned.....

Nothing but vague red herrings pretending to be witty responses, from the chickenshit.

Ham thinks that if he lies about the science he can make it agree with the Bible. You think that if you lie about the science and the Bible you make them agree. That's why Ham is more credible.

Eeeeewwwww, I bet that was hard to type, Ken Ham more credible, lol

Lve this quote from patheos:

"Ken Ham, with no scientific credentials, no credentials in biblical scholarship, no evidence, and no research program, has become the front person, the spokesman for a large segment of evangelicalism. He proves nothing, he asserts what he finds to be truth and tells a story to make it so."

So, which parts are literal and which are poetry?

first of all, there are other types of writing as well.....historical documents, epistles (letters), wisdom literature.....Hebrew poetry that originates from stories told around the campfires at night are generally noted by particular Hebrew word typically translated into the English word "Now"......

note the wording of Genesis 1
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.....etc.

The verb tense of Genesis 1:1 is different from that used in the rest of the passage......verse 2 begins with "now".....they are actually two separate pericopes.....

Verse 1 is actually an imperative, a command.....in the sense of "Understand this!"......In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.....

Verse 2 begins a depiction of creation in the fashion of a story teller speaking at night around a campfire, after supper.....that pericope ends with 2:1....

the balance of Chapter 2 is in narrative form.

lol.....you lie about science and think it will help you convince people your fantasies are science.....

I am very aware of the contents of the Bible, I was using your word, poetry, to put my question to you.

So, Genesis is poetry and not literal, not history, not science, is this how I am to understand your post? Genesis is a good story told round the campfire? is this what your post is stating?

when he incarnated as Jesus Christ, that aspect of him became a living human being......other than that, obviously not.....

I have never heard this before from any Christian that God is not alive, other than in the form of Jesus Christ. You definitely have your own brand of Christianity.

So in your view, what is the state of God's existence if he is not alive?

I suppose you could reach that conclusion......if you ignored everything I said.......I gave you an example of three different styles of writing within the first two chapters and your response is "so, Genesis is poetry?".....pretty stupid, Rana....../

read through Genesis and make note of all the pericopes that begin with "Now"......

????.....seriously?......there isn't a Christian alive who thinks that God the father is a living creature.....he's a god.....he doesn't have a body, he doesn't breath, he doesn't shit, he doesn't prefer pancakes over oatmeal for breakfast.........

He is referred to by most Christians as the living god, are they confused?

Let me ask again, in a different way, which parts of the Bible are without allegory or metaphore and can be taken literally? I know there are different type of literature in the Bible, but what books are actually literal to you?

impossible question.....no book is entirely one genre of writing.....exegesis requires that one first isolate a pericope, identify the genre, examine the original text and study its historical context.....

there are tens of thousands of things in the Bible that are understood literally......that however doesn't mean I would accept what you claim it says to be its literal meaning......after all, you just tried to argue that all Christians except me believe God the Father to be a living creature......
