Cyndi Lauper Says 'Our Families Are Validated' as Biden Signs Marriage Act

You have free will. If you believe you were personally handed a sword to deal justice, that seems a bit extreme.

Per our unalienable rights, everyone has a right to speak their say, but they don’t have a right to lie or spread hate against others.

The only sword I am handed is from Eph. 6:17. That is to be used to judge right and wrong and to defend truth. As far as my religious beliefs go, that’s the only sword I am to use. It’s perfect…complete (James 1:25).

Where’s the lie? Where’s the hate? And I’m talking about from me…from my stance.

Our owners (Carlin) will outlaw cash as soon as they can. We will be tracked 24/7 with our phones, which will also be constantly listening....with everything fed into AI to find the problem people, who will be either tuned up or eliminated. Not having your phone with you at all times will be illegal.

So you have no idea what I was talking about

No, you see, abortion was not found to be unconstitutional, it was found not to be a right. Now states or the fed can make laws against it, it no longer is a right. It’s the same with marriage equality, no state can currently ban it, but now, even if the right is taken away the fed has already passed a law guaranteeing it. The fed COULD pass a law keeping abortion legal nationally also, but they won’t.

Have it your way then the same grounds can be used for gay marriage if it is about states rights. This new law changes nothing

"LGBTQ and interracial couples can go to sleep tonight knowing that their families are safe and sound," Lauper said. "I am honored to help celebrate the generations of activists who bravely fought to make sure that love wins in the end. Thank you to President Biden, Vice President Harris, Speaker Pelosi and the Senators and Representatives in Congress for your leadership and putting aside partisan divides to ensure this fundamental right. Now, Americans can love who they love."

The Respect for Marriage Act passed in the House of Representatives with bipartisan support over the summer. Supporters of the bill in the Senate said they delayed a vote on the legislation until they could ensure they had enough votes on both sides of the aisle for passage.

Guano you dumb shit. It was made legal back during the Obama administration.

Not everyone is a xtian and believes in the same. No one forced anybody to have an abortion , but now all are forced to forgo what was available thanks to the lying christo fascist mutants

Pretend as you will, typical.

It’s not states rights…. It’s if Abortion and gay marriage are constitutional rights of individuals.

It doesn't "upset me." It makes me wonder just how fucking stupid the people running things actually are because they have to be stupider than me by a huge margin to think I'd swallow their codifying something into law that was already long codified into law as significant.

It's not stupidity, it's diversion.

Free will allows each of us to cherry-pick from the Bible, Torah, Quran, whatever based upon personal choices.

As a general rule, I like “love thy neighbor” more than preaching harm to others. Lots of both love and hate in the Bible. Notice the JPP members who cherry-pick hateful things out of the Bible more often than the loving things. You seem reasonable enough to know hate is not the message of Christ. :)

This thread, much less the entire forum, is full of hate….and, IMO, several elderly, deteriorating and selfish minds. Most of them chickenshit keyboard kommandos. Harmless except for the hate they spew daily. Most of them are elderly Euro-American males in their late 60s and up. They are mostly White Nationalists who would like to see the Federal government collapse in support of a Fourth Reich.

Do you agree there’s a lot of hate all around with the most violent coming from the Right side? Where do you draw the line between standing for Truth and violently attacking an American because they don’t like them for some reason?

They are not constitutional rights. That is a democreat lie. They are states rights. States decide who can get a marriage license and now with this new law that will once again be the case

The knew means not all states will give marrige lincese to gays. This law did not help gays and did not do what gays wanted

Does Jewish law state that life begins at conception?

No, life does not begin at conception under Jewish law. Sources in the Talmud note that the fetus is “mere water”
before 40 days of gestation. Following this period, the fetus is considered a physical part of
the pregnant individual’s body, not yet having life of its own or independent rights. The fetus
is not viewed as separate from the parent’s body until birth begins and the first breath of
oxygen into the lungs allows the soul to enter the body.

Does Jewish law assert that it is possible to murder a fetus? No, Jewish law does not
consider a fetus to be alive. The Torah, Exodus 21:22-23, recounts a story of two men who
are fighting and injure a pregnant woman, resulting in her subsequent miscarriage. The verse
explains that if the only harm done is the miscarriage, then the perpetrator must pay a fine.
However, if the pregnant person is gravely injured, the penalty shall be a life for a life as in
other homicides. The common rabbinical interpretation of this verse is that the men did not
commit murder and that the fetus is not a person. The primary concern is the well-being of
the person who was injured.

I saw the clip of Cyndi singing a few lines of True Colors at the signing.

Damn, that lady can still hit the high ones! What a beautiful voice she has, and after she had an accident in her teens to her vocal chords, and was told she will never be able to sing again!

The woman is not even gay, has a wonderful husband and son, but yet she has always spoke up and has been an activist to something she feels is more important than just herself.

How can anyone not love this woman? Her True Colors shine through!

and yet, you're the folks who needed to pass laws forcing your views of marriage on the rest of the world.......

What an interesting characterization.

America is about freedom, and freedom of beliefs. Allowing beliefs and practices doesn't "force" anything on anyone. Completely dishonest post on your part.

In the summer, when my wife works and I don’t, when I’m cleaning the house I still crank the cassette tape with some of my favorites … I’ll Kiss You and She Bop. I’ve always liked her singing.
