Defend This

Hello Controlled Opposition,

There is nothing to defend. But I did support Bill Clinton's chuckle after a funeral.

Cypress made an excellent point, which I will quote:

"There is no social expectation - none, nada, zilch - that you have to look and act glum, depressed, despondent throughout an entire memorial service. Seeing friends and relatives, you may not have seen in ages is an opportunity to re-connect and share the joy in life."

It reflects my experiences at every funeral I have ever attended.

Good point.

Thanks for mentioning that.

And spot on. There is no defending a sociopath. What he needs is mental counseling.

There is no social expectation -- from average people -- that a President, when the family of a murder victim wants to be photographed with him-- have tears streaming down his face.

In fact, the idea / suggestion is totally flipping stupid and I have never seen a President do such as that.

If Trump did something like that, I would be totally embarrassed for him and for me supporting him.

Perhaps this is a "normal" expectation from one completely consumed in hatred for President Trump, but to outsiders? It looks ridiculous.

What is stupid here is your hyperbole. Did a single person say that he/she expected Trump to be crying? That's just absurd. What we expect is that he comport himself as a compassionate, caring adult -- a leader there to represent the nation's horror and sorrow on our behalf. Let me tell you this -- other than some of the Reichwingers -- there isn't a single person among us who would have posed like this with the bereaved family of someone we knew. That's because we are normal ppl with empathy, and couth. The fact that you don't see how offensive this photo is, and how it was used by the First Strumpet as a PR bit, says some not-very-flattering things about yourself. Frankly, it's disgusting that you would even attempt to defend and excuse this boorish and foul behavior.

I never said Trump should be crying like a baby during the photo op.

I could even excuse his hamming it up for the cameras if it was a one time social faux paux - we all make mistakes and do bone headed things without thinking about it on occassion.

The thing is, this is totally in character for Trump. This photo op speaks to the way he is self-absorbed, the way he is inconsiderate of others, and his consistent lack of presidential decorum.

Look at the photo you posted and the words quoted from the uncle.

Why is the uncle smiling? The uncle wanted a photo with the President and he got it. I'm sure he didn't want a pic of a Prez blubbering like a baby as he himself is smiling. If I sought a photo with a President, I wouldn't want one with him/her with tears streaming down their face or a look they are constipated.

If you cannot comprehend what occurred with this uncle and the President's picture, then your TDS has progressed so terminally, clinical intervention is not an option.

Please check yourself into a TDS hospice center stat....

TDS?Is that like the 10000 post thread you infected the forum with?

All I can say is he beat the hell out of Hillary in the electoral college, which is the only votes that truly count. And the economy looks better than it has in a decade. So hang on to your infantile hatred it will take you a long way.

Like the election results really prove anything other than how well the GOP cheats. And the economy is basically on the same trajectory it was on at election time. It remains to be seen how much inertia is left and how much damage Trump is doing.

I'm sorry but that 3 million votes means nothing. And if he won the electorl votes by 270 vote the out come is the same.

Ah there lies the rub "any normal POTUS". Trump isn't a normal president. In my lifetime I have never seen such hatred aimed at the president. Obama and Bush were disliked but not hated.

That 3 million votes means a lot to Trump. It still grates at him. And he only won the Electoral College because of GOP cheating. Obama was hated by the right. They spent every day for 8 years making up lies about him and spreading those lies. Nobody needs to lie about Trump. The truth is bad enough.

I think Bush was hated just as virulently. Remember when the police were in riot gear for both of his inaugurations, cuz the loons were rioting, as always? They used to wish for his and Cheney's assassination when they were abroad, "Chimpeach" and all the loon sites which popped up in his honor "crookzNliarz.com", etc. Their behavior was absolutely disgraceful and disrespectful. The difference now is Trump gives it back to them in spades while W sat back and never said a peep.

The difference is that the cowardly bully Trump can't deal with any criticism and can't respond rationally.

Yet you can't explain the "reasoning" behind people rioting and burning up cars and property for weeks, starting on Nov. 8, 2016.

That's because there was no "reason" involved -- it is Trump Derangement, pure and simple.

That incoherence renders any of your current complaints completely bogus. The only rationale or reason you possess is "Trump bad" -- "get bad orange man".
Or it's actually being aware of Trump's history of multiple bankruptcies and multiple cons, cheating everyone around him given the slightest opportunity. Trump was clearly the worst candidate for President in recent history, if not longer.

You confuse Trumps persona with his economics. They aren't the same. Also as bad as he might offend other countries they know that he will be gone and a new leader will take his place.

Funny you should say that after talking about Obama. From my perspective he fostered distrust of police and supported black causes over what was good for all. So I definitely would never hold him up as a role model.

Obama was a much better President than Trump. He dealt rather gracefully with the constant stream of lies from the right, many of which you appear to believe.

Hello Controlled Opposition,

The woman on the right looks very grief stricken. The baby does not look happy either. The guy on the right has a forced smile.

It's almost weird. WE almost never see Trump with a genuine smile. And here he is beaming. It's creepy.
When you see Trump smiling it's time to reach for your wallet and make sure it's still there and that whatever was in it is also still there.

You are deep in your TDS. Nobody said anything about tears streaming down his face. What's being discussed is Trump having a shiteating grin and giving a thumbs up as if he's celebrating the deaths of the baby's parents.

Once again, I think that those defending this execrable photo miss the whole point in their shame over their glorious turd-in-chief. It has nothing to do with someone saying something to the Toadstools off camera that made them smile. It has nothing to do with the uncle wanting to meet with them. It has *everything* to do with the fact that they chose THIS photo out of (we can safely assume) several that were taken, to put on the First Strumpet's official @FLOTUS Twitter account to commemorate their trip to "comfort" the shocked and grieving citizens of El Paso. This photo illustrates exactly what the Toadstools are -- attention-seeking media whores who do not possess a shred of empathy, self-awareness, or leadership qualities.

Talking out your ass as usual you have no idea what I believe about Obama.
