Kerry was far worse than Berdhal when it comes to being a traitor; I find it amusing that liberals lack the intelligence to comprehend the damage Kerry did for political gain and hackery.
Lee wasn't a traitor. Lee wanted to leave with his beloved Virginia and would have left peacefully if not for a bunch of pussies saying no.
Kerry took the actions of a traitor. Bergdahl's actions costs the lives of honorable soldiers sent to look for him and were killed by the enemy as a direct result of Bergdahl's actions.
Changing your story? You said those that WEAR the uniform are heroes. Plenty of examples proving otherwise.
There is a difference between honoring and respecting someone’s service and holding them up as a hero. I respect the fact that, no matter the reason Kerry volunteered and served. Like anyone else I knew or served with. I respect the fact that he went to Vietnam unlike many rich guys from both sides of aisle. I respect the fact he did not sit behind a desk.
I’ll even respect the fact that he was entitled to three Purple Hearts under the regulation definition of combat injuries. But, again, I know quite a few who have one under similar circumstances.
I’ll respect the fact that like thousands he opted to go home after less than 5 months in country instead of volunteering to stay. He didn’t. And I’ll even respect that he took an early out that was being offered to returning sailors.
Here is the point. I respect, and on Veterans Day, honor those facts. You can’t argue that is what he did. But that DOES NOT make him a hero. Makes him another guy who did his time honorably and was discharged. Like tens of thousands of us he can try and get his free Golden Coral dinner on Veterans and be done with it. He is no more a hero than I or thousands like him.
Now, when you are capable of something above school yard antics and grade school name calling, let me know and I will educate you on you real heros. Look up Sgt York, Pappy Boyington, Audie Murphy and Lewis B. Chesty Puller.
Then I will educate you on some I served with as a young soldier who served in Vietnam when I was a kid. And did things that would make Kerry soil his navy issued britches. Guys who won three Purple Hearts and then did two more year long tours. And you won’t read about them in history books.
Kerry threw those he served with under the bus. He used them for political gain. THAT is what many of us hold against him.
Bergdahl left his post and left left his buddies short. That is bullshot. Ever wonder why the punishment for desertion and being a traitor USED TO BE death? His asshole comes home with Sgt Stripes and a hero’s welcome. All as cover for what Bammy gave up for his ass.
