For the Left it means: A selected group or class of people based on some characteristic.

Traditionally, it means: A group based on race or ethnicity.

For example, by the Left's definition, I'm a "minority." I am a veteran and left handed.

a relatively small group of people, especially one commonly discriminated against in a community, society, or nation, differing from others in race, religion, language, or political persuasion.

Wrong. The Left makes up and decides who's a minority and who's not on a whim. Look at universities. Too many Asians (usually a minority class for the Left) were applying and getting in so they dropped their minority status.

With LGBTPDQRS... whatever, other deviant sexual proclivities the Left doesn't celebrate aren't included: Polygamists, swingers, wife swappers, etc.

With veterans, homeless veterans are a Leftist minority favorite, while successful ones, like me are not considered for that.

It's all made up on the spot on a whim by the Left.

Nah, if they are transitioned or transitioning they need constant medication that sometimes cannot be supplied at the front lines, this is the same reason that folks with diabetes cannot join, it isn't because we "don't want folks that want to serve" it is because we do not want to harm them when and if they are needed at the front lines.

Bull fucking shit. Have you read what your people have been saying about trans people in this thread? The last "concern" they have is preventing harm.

I have read what those folks said, they have never served and do not look at it with that kind of perspective, and they also think "icky" and "ick" factor can never be a good reason to deny folks.

When I was asked to explain why folks with diabetes cannot join, I gave that answer. It is the same. If they need medication to remain healthy they cannot serve on the front lines, we need folks that can, or to at least limit those folks to non combat jobs. Thankfully these folks can join openly, none of the BS we had when I was in that caused gays to lose their clearances because they weren't allowed to join openly and if they were "found out" it could be used to blackmail them....

Anyway. I have no ill will towards trans folks, some idiots do. I simply gave the only valid reason. If they aren't transitioning and/or otherwise do not need a constant flow of medications to remain healthy I can see no reason to kick them out if they are healthy and want to serve.

I appreciate that reasonable reply. That's not Trump's thought process though. He simply wants to throw out the "freaks" so that his low-information, uneducated cult will cheer for bothering libs and hurting tranny.

I must disagree, in this respect; it's my considered opinion that people who delude themselves into believing that they can become the opposite sex are mentally unstable at best, and suffer from mental illness at worst.

I don't want anyone afflicted with those issues anywhere near national security.

Mental health is health. If you are, or ever were, suicidal you cannot hold a clearance. So when I say "healthy" that is taken into consideration.
