Nah, if she's 16 you're good to go there. The point of that post was first that in the nation the guy is from that may be an age gap, but it isn't one that is illegal. The second point in the next post of mine was that he never wrote the song, he covered it. Is was written in 1960, he covered it in 1973.

If you want to get real uncomfortable and try to stretch your mind around different cultural norms, check on the age of consent in Japan.

The point about the UK law was also about coercion, impairment and other circumstances that limited the 16-year-old's freedom of choice.

Do you really believe Trump and Jeffery's girls had much choice about their circumstances. A lot is made on JPP about "grooming" and pedophiles. Does a groomed minor really have freedom of choice?

According to updated Japanese law, the age of consent was raised from 13 to 16 on June 16, 2023 as part of a major criminal code revision aimed at strengthening protections against sexual exploitation.
