Many of those older dudes end up getting busted for possession of child porn. I believe that's legally defined as sex acts involving underage (by that state's definition) individuals. The victims could be pre-puberty-age kids, or teens up to the age of consent. That being said, even possession of such filth is not precisely "pedophilia" because they haven't performed those acts (or got caught, anyways); they merely own photos/videos of them. Quite often though, those who get busted with kiddie porn have gone on to acting on their sick urges.
