Electric vehicles can now power your home for three days. MAGA wets panties

A phone weighs 2000 pounds?

Do u know how many phone batteries can be made with one EV battery

Are u really this fucking stupid?

You're the idiot for being unable to grasp this conversation. I'm not talking about the battery under a car’s hood. The computers in modern cars have their own lithium ion batteries.

The next generation of EV batteries will feed energy to your home — and the grid

EVs can weigh 1/3 more than an ICE vehicle making them extremely dangerous to others in an accident. Not to mention the additional wear and tear to our roads and bridges.

EVs can easily wear tires out in 1/2 the time of a gas car, and the tires are more expensive.

Insurance premiums for EVs can be 15 to 40% higher.

And the Federal gov't still subsidizes the purchase price with $7500, and now Cali. wants to give another $10k on top of that.

And as others have said, the electric grid can NOT handle much more.

So yeah, you're better off leaving it at home to power the house for your wife and kids, in futureworld.

I note reports that the EV charging infrastructure is groaning....too many charging stations are broken at any given time, and there are not enough of them....driving up anziety and sucking peoples time....driving down quality of life.

Tesla was successfully pressured to allow not Tesla's to use their chargers. I have no idea how that is supposed to help.

One of my neighbors bought an EV about 2 months ago. She parks it on her front lawn so she can back it up to a basement window to charge it. I thought about putting a funny sign on her front lawn saying "redneck parking only". (next to her BLM sign and Pride flag)

She already had a flat tire, and apparently it was a major deal (due to the weight) as she had to have it towed off the lawn for repair.

I live in a subdivision of I think it is 347 houses....When I am out walking the dogs I watch and try to talk to people. I am not seeing EV's take off here.....there is only one that I have seen till recently, now I know of two. There might be some that are in garages but lots of people (me for instance) dont use garages for cars.

I wonder about something....last year I saw many people go to electric lawn mowers.....most dont seem to be too happy with them, as small as our yards are you need at least two batteries to do the whole thing at one time even with new batteries....that will surely get worse with time. If people feel let down by electric mowers they might think twice about buying an EV...especially at current prices.

I only know of the one EV in my neighborhood (similar to yours, but built pre-war and 40's), ... there may be others.

I tried one of those battery mowers. Sounded great! But Same problem, I returned it and got my $400 back.

But I do luv my battery weedwacker.

I dont know the details but I believe that Washington State is doing something to drive up the cost of gas mowers so that people will buy electric. That price was why people were buying them of the onces I talked to.

But they barely work....they degrade quality of life.....and I think they also drive down confidence in Green Energy Utopia.

You seem to lack the understanding that your EV batteries require just slightly more cobalt, nickel, copper, and lithium than your phone battery. It's OK, I understand leftie thinking.

Home solar panels had already been chipping away at the United States’ centralized power system, forcing utilities to make electricity transfer a two-way street. More recently, home batteries have allowed households with solar arrays to become energy traders, recharging when electricity prices are low, replacing grid power when prices are high, and then selling electricity for a profit during peak hours.
But batteries are expensive. Using EVs makes this kind of home setup cheaper and a real possibility for more Americans.
So there may be a time, perhaps soon, when your car not only gets you from point A to point B, but also serves as the hub of your personal power plant.

What's the 1st law of Thermodynamics, retard?

That must be why EVs are breaking sales records every year. People with EVs charge their cars in their garages 90% of the time.

Our latest long-term forecast for new electric vehicle (BEV and PHEV) sales in the US through 2030. EV sales should grow to reach approximately 29.5% of all new car sales in 2030 from an expect roughly 3.4% in 2021.
This would also see sales increase to 4.7 million from a little more than 500,000 in 2021.

I bought an electric mower three years ago and I LOVE it. No oil, no gas, no stinky exhaust smell. And it's much lighter, quieter and easier to maneuver. I've had ZERO problems with it. I'd love to know how electric mowers 'degrade quality of life'. That's a good one.
I don't know where you're getting your erroneous info (probably FauxNews).

a. its the solar panels that make the electricity, not the car.
b. the cars to not make the solar panels, batteries and equipment any cheaper.
