You pay for it one way or another. People end up in the ER all the time for problems that could have been prevented by primary health care.

The point being: If the US Government wants to Land a Man on the Moon, or construct a Canal in a far off Country, or just build a Dam that only benefits a few ... IT CAN.
So, ... if the US Government wants to design a Universal Health Care System (like 18 other First world Nations) ... IT CAN.

Question: Iolo. Are you miserable with your Government paid Doctors and your Government built Hospitals, and your ability to receive Medical Care when you are sick?
Just because people don't have medical insurance doesn't mean they can't get treated. They just have to go to an emergency clinic. When they don't pay, their bill gets passed along to those who do pay in the form of higher insurance premiums. This is why slashing Medicare will not save you any money.
