Well, but for the NHS I'd have died three years since, or had to sell my house. The NHS, even starved of funds by the tories, is far more popular than the monarchy.

What is interesting is how this thread will go on and on, yet we never see lefties talking about equal funding of healthcare to go along with the equal access to benefits. The only discussions of how to pay for it revolve around somebody else paying more than their equal share.
Not if those refusing to provide coverage for themselves weren't provided care because they didn't pay.

That is unequal funding. Perhaps not of the same sort (one voluntary, the other an obligation)...BUT IT IS UNEQUAL FUNDING. I don't mind. That sort of thing happens. I volunteer lots of my time to my township...others volunteer nothing. It works out okay.
In any case, with insurance the "unequal funding" happens a lot.
If you have life insurance and are one of the unlucky people who stay alive...in essence you are funding one of the lucky people who die.
