Ever notice how the word "Democracy" is never used in a right wingers thread?

I have watched both, hopefully others will but I assume you & I will be the only ones........

What is it you want ppl to come away w/??

I want people to understand that Conservatism is Fascist by nature, so things like Libertarianism and "small government" shouldn't be taken seriously. Whenever we have a Republican president, the government actually gets bigger. After all, there is a reason that the freest countries in the world are all Liberal.
But I don't expect Conservatives to accept this. I'm hoping that content like this wakes up Centrists. They're usually more reasonable.

And in all fairness, we should be careful to not go too far Left. Equality is both impossible and undesirable. We should be Left but not Far Left.

Since nary a one will watch, how can they come to realize this??

While equality is impossible, why is it undesirable?

Centrists will watch. The best we can do is share videos like this with them.

Do we really want a society where the guy washing dishes makes as much money as the doctors? That would kill incentive for so many people.

I also don't think everyone should be allowed to vote. People aren't equal and the rights they have should reflect that. Blind people aren't allowed to drive because we accept it would be too dangerous. Same with voting when it comes to people who are stupid, old, or minorities.

Correct, but if the Supreme Court would have voted it down.
Corporations couldn't have openly bought politicians.
They would have had to bribe them with cash in back alleys

They just used political action committees and direct to the public ads.

The Supreme Court did vote it down. The campaign finance laws violated the free speech provisions of the Constitution and they found the law unconstitutional.

The money is used for campaign funds but votes still win elections. If the public does not like the record of politicians they can always vote them out of office regardless of how much money they collected in campaign funds.

People always talk about the influence of money in elections but I have yet to find one person who admits their vote has been influenced by campaign spending.

I have noticed this and there is a very good reason for it. They don't believe in the concept of Democracy and want it gone. "E pluribus Unum" has no meaning for them and the dismantling of the very things that did and do make America great is proof. Even the USPS has been under attack in order to privatize it for the lords.

These are the people that would have been loyalists to the throne and prefer a system of serfs and lords. I find it sadly ironic and amusing that these tools get their collective panties in a twist over someone taking a knee in protest during the anthem as if that hand wringing proves their sorry-ass patriotism. What a bunch of morons!

The right wingers hate Democracy and prefer an authoritarian dictator and a system run by oligarchs. That is the bottom line!

SCOTUS equated campaign contributions to speech. when they should have equated it to voting. I would like to see an Amendment limiting campaign contributions to candidates or issues that the one making the contribution can vote for. IOW, you could contribute to the campaigns for your Congressman or Senator or President, but not to the campaigns for other Congressmen or Senators.

It is speech--spending money is one way for me to express my views. If I put up a billboard saying "Elect Todd" that is my freedom of expression. Voting is a separate issue but I don't see any conflict between the two. 10 million people giving $5 each accomplishes the same thing as one large contribution. There is already a $2700 limit on contributions to a candidate (but not limited to those you can vote for).

they have been idioticly screaming for over a decade that we are NOT a democracy

this evil Russian plan started pretty much as soon as Russian agents got their first internets connections

So you equate equality w/ just wealth??

I am thinking of educational opportunities, opportunities to live where they choose & can afford etc.....

When Trump was campaigning he ran on a populist message, but as you can see, everything that Trump has done is to the plutocrats benefit, being the unscrupulous conman, that Trump is.

Educational opportunities should be equal. That'll never actually happen, but it is something we should strive for. And we should have equality before the law. As for where you can live, I'm still for freedom of association and racial separation. But I do think everyone (even white people) should have the right to discriminate equally.

That is blatantly not true. Leftist/Statists love the state so much that they roll over for every idiotic pile of BS that some Mastermind types like Warren or Sanders comes up with.

To your title Democracy? The USA is not a Democracy, it's a Republic look at your govt and tell me it's not a Republic. You vote for Representatives they go to Washington and create the laws and policy.

The US Constitution says nothing about a "Democracy" it does lay out the rules for how our REPUBLIC is to be formed. Read it some time you might learn something. Of course since it sounds as though you are a Leftist you probably think the Constitution is outdated like my idiot sister says. You can't pick and choose and toss out the things you don't like. The Electoral College for example, the USA has never elected a President by the Popular Vote. If you don't like it then you have 2 ways to change the Constitution. One is the Amendment process. Can you tell me the 2nd way?

It appears as if there are two ways for you to get what you want:

1) Get appointed to the SCOTUS and have 4 others vote like you

2) Use the process outlined in Article V of the Constitution to have an amendment added.

Either way, good luck.

I think it will happen, maybe not in our life time, but it will.

The educational system in the USA is simply a hold over of jim crow.. I guess there could be worse ways but I can't or do I wish to ponder them..

Yes, there is good reason for it. That reason is because the USA is NOT a Democracy. It is a Federated Republic. It is not ruled by the masses; it is ruled by a Constitution.

Even the USPS has been under attack in order to privatize it for the lords.
I have no major issues with the USPS.

These are the people that would have been loyalists to the throne and prefer a system of serfs and lords. Those people are disrespecting the national flag, the symbol that joins us all together as US Citizens. They are another example of how it is primarily LIBERALS who promote division/hatred/vitriol.

The right wingers hate Democracy
Correct. While I like democratic elections, I do not like Democracy. As a government system, it always fails, and it tends to dissolve into either a dictatorship or an oligarchy.

and prefer an authoritarian dictator and a system run by oligarchs. That is the bottom line!
WRONG. That is what MARXISTS want... That is what the Liberals want. They want to replace the US Constitution with a fascist oligarchy. I simply want the US Constitution to be followed. I want a Federated Republic.
