Who said anything about UNREGULATED? The point is you cannot have free market competition if you have 50 different sets of rules to play by. You cannot have free market competition if you limit WHO people can buy policies from.

The SEIU member used a racial slur against Kenneth, then punched him in the face. Kenneth fell to the ground. Another SEIU member yelled racial epithets at Kenneth as he kicked him in the head and back. Kenneth was also brutally attacked by one other male SEIU member and an unidentified woman.

AND, what works against this bullshit claim is the video itself showing this ho bouncing up from his fall in two seconds then walking around shouting to people without any injury or even concern for his supposed punch in the face, KICK IN THE HEAD and back, and another "brutal" attack by someone else .. in two seconds.

It's a ridiculous claim, and this ho and his "attorney" will be exposed for what they are.

Nah, I suggest a more centralized regulatory body, much like others suggest on your side, that allows people to be able to shop for insurance across state lines. I also wouldn't mind a subsidy for people with need to allow them to be able to afford insurance when they need a safety net. While we implement this we could then start an inquiry into medical costs that have risen exponentially and faster than any indicator would show merited. I'm betting we find some Pentagon Toilet Seat types of savings there.

BTW - we should watch out we are derailing a perfectly good thread full of insults to have an adult conversation.

No I don't need any more horseshit thank you. It's well known that a person with a pre-existing condition cannot get health care on the open market, and even without a preexisting condition, if you are over 40 and an overweight smoker, the premiums would be prohibitive, and that further, the poor people who do scrape up the money for these open market health care plans, are dropped the second they make a claim.

it's really a terrible crime. But then, you're on medicare, so you don't have to worry, do you?

Again, neither are free market. This is a straw man, a poorly disguised one. And the other hasn't "failed" it simply has gotten too expensive and we need to find out why rather than hurrying to the sand box to drop some government on it and bury it in tax dollars. It may be out of sight, but it still smells and without that provision handled it will indeed "fail" on the government end too. Only we'll be stuck with it, because there is nothing more permanent than a government "solution".

Your hyperbole notwithstanding, this shows that left is as uneducated on this as they claim the right is.

It is funny. It can be quite sad too. I used to post with this republican woman who got breast cancer. She was self employed so she got her insurance on the open market. Of course, her cancer claims were all denied, across the board.

I think she died. We never heard from her again. The last anybody heard she was in very bad condition, and with all that, she was fighting her insurance company.

I felt terrible for her. Unlike many of them here, she was not at all vicious. Just stupid.

Do all of them have to have this happen to them personally before the learn? I think the answer is yes and I believe this is due to some empathy gene the conservative personality is lacking. It's part of what leads them to conservatism in the first place.

The really sad thing is that it will actually happen to a good number of them, if nothing is done about our health care system. I think all of the time that it's time to pack it in and get out of this country. It's a country made up of far too many small, venal, mean-spirited people.

There are way better places in this world.
