Do all of them have to have this happen to them personally before the learn? I think the answer is yes and I believe this is due to some empathy gene the conservative personality is lacking. It's part of what leads them to conservatism in the first place.

The really sad thing is that it will actually happen to a good number of them, if nothing is done about our health care system. I think all of the time that it's time to pack it in and get out of this country. It's a country made up of far too many small, venal, mean-spirited people.

The sad truth is that we exist in a stupid country full of morons who are easily led into supporting things against their own best interests.

The good news for me is that I'm just an observer now. I couldn't care less what Americans do. I've passed the baton and I'll spend the rest of my days enjoying life and reflecting on the memories and experiences I've enjoyed.

Business is good, my wife and I are happy together, and my dog is the most beautiful dog in the entire region. Life is beautiful.

Leave if you choose to my wise sister, but don't let the neanderthals chase you away. This is YOUR country .. even more than it is theirs because you care about it.

I don't remember which thread you posted in where you made a case for some deregulating insurance to make it more portable and competitive. I agree, along with some serious tort reform and an overhaul of medicare and medicaide cleansing them of fraud, abuse, waste and error.
