For those who bash England constantly

Hey England, thanks for the Writs of Assistance,
The Quartering Act, the Stamp Act, the Boston Massacre,
George the 3rd, and the British East India Company.
Oh yeah, the War of 1812 was a godsend as well.
Did I mention go fuck yourselves?

Also thank you for subjugating black and brown and natuve peoples all over the world.
Oh yeah? Travel around the world and see the difference in nations who have adopted British institutions, like the U.S., and those those that have not.

We may not agree with the Brits on all things and eschewed their class system but thank the good lord above we've adopted most of their civil, political and economic institutions.

Consider who you are addressing sheep fucker.
The good that England has was given to them by Scandinavians. They were worshipping trees when we gave them monarchy, civilisation and rule of law.

Yes, but it was the French Enlightenment that added and refined what England gave them.

Crispus Attucks and millions of native Americans disagree with your synopsis.

Crispus Attacks was one man. The millions of Natives were killed by Americans - not Englishmen. Let's also not forget that the mob caused the Boston Massacre - it did make for some significant propaganda, though.

Why is Scandinavia not still greater than England, then? For literally the past 800 years!

You only have to look at what the Spanish and Portuguese left behind in South America to see that is true.

Rune has got a bug up his arse about the UK. I have been to Norway, it is a beautiful place nature wise but the people are as miserable as sin and the prices are just fucking crazy.

I appreciate the vast number of contributions all other cultures have loaned us but none is as significant to this nation becoming a great power as our adoption of British civil, economic and government institutions.

Ah yes....the compadre system. The Phillipines has that problem too. My wife, now that she is a US citizen still doesn't grasp that concept that the institution is more important than the man/woman who fills that seat. That if the job isn't done properly that person will be replaced to protect that institution.

Don't forget all the ball games as well; football, tennis, British baseball (from rounders), cricket, squash, rugby, snooker, billiards, golf, table tennis, water polo, polo and hockey to name a few!

What the shit did a lot of murderous German barbarians and bloody, thieving Vikings ever do for anyone, especially Britain? The key people weren't those barbarous pagans but those who kicked out the imperial bosses in 410 AD and started to convert the peasantry.

The royal family of Europe to start with.

The people are rich as sin and the ones you talked to were only miserable until you left.
