The Pakistan floods are catastrophic. In one way or another we are all going to suffer from this.

Spain's olive oil producers devastated by worst ever drought

A recent report by the Global Drought Observatory concluded that Europe is suffering its worst drought in 500 years.

Several countries across the continent have been battling wildfires and heatwaves, with Spain particularly badly hit. More than 270,000 hectares here have been burnt this year, according to the European Forest Fire Information System.

The extreme heat and lack of rainfall have led to a dramatic drop in levels of Spain's natural water reserves. The Vinuela reservoir near Malaga is at just over 10% of its capacity.

Elsewhere, medieval waterfront villages, long buried beneath rivers, have been exposed as the water evaporates.

Any genuinely intelligent person following the mounting disasters and catastrophes illustrated by this thread must surely realize that further ' growth ' of our economies is toxic. Capitalism has empowered the few at the expense of the many- and , literally, our one world.
The pipe-dream of interplanetary colonization is simply being used as a carrot to lead us into further destructive ' growth '- despite the good intentions of scientists. We have to STOP, sit down, look around and CHANGE.

Half of Pakistan is under water. Its glaciers have melted and it is experiencing a super- monsoon.

Giant hailstones have smashed traffic in Catalonia and killed a child.

Anybody ever read ' Portent ' ?

Giant hailstones ‘the size of peaches’ batter Catalonia town
Giant hailstones described as being “the size of peaches” pelted down over a town in Catalonia on Tuesday, 30 August.

A child was fatally struck by one of the massive hailstones, which measured over 10 centimetres in diameter.

Local media reported that 40 people were injured in the downpour in the town of La Bisbal d’Emporda.

Witness Lluis Ribas said the storm was “completely sudden and very violent” and caused “significant damage” to roofs and vehicles.

Footage shows the scene as the hail battered Carrer de l’Aigueta in the town.

Denier dumbasses have absolutely no idea of the scale of the Pakistan catastrophe.
They should be rounded up and handed over for Pakistani refugees to eat.

Millions in Japan told to evacuate as Typhoon Nanmadol approaches

Authorities warn of ‘unprecedented’ waves and winds from Typhoon Nanmadol, urge four million people on Kyushu Island to evacuate.

The NHK broadcaster said local authorities have ordered four million people living on Kyushu to evacuate, with the JMA predicting that the island could receive as much as 500mm (20 inches) of rain and wind gusts of up to 250km/h (155mph).

The agency also warned residents in the affected area of flooding, landslides, as well as “unprecedented” levels of powerful winds and waves, and urged them to evacuate early.

Burning world’s fossil fuel reserves could emit 3.5tn tons of greenhouse gas
The world will have released more planet-heating emissions than have occurred since the industrial revolution, analysis found

“You’ve got governments issuing new licenses or permits for coal that are completely decoupled from their own climate commitments,” said Mark Campanale, founder of Carbon Tracker Initiative, which is launching the new Global Registry of Fossil Fuels with Global Energy Monitor on Monday.

“It’s like a country announcing that they’re going on a climate change diet and they’re going to eat salad for lunch and then sneaking back to their office and working their way through a box of donuts,” he said. “You’re not on a diet if you’re stuffing your face with donuts, but that’s what’s happening with countries and their developers of fossil fuels.”

There is no such thing as 'greenhouse gas', other than as a religious artifact. You can't create energy out of nothing. You are STILL ignoring the 1st law of thermodynamics.

No gas or vapor has the capability to produce energy out of nothing.

Good. Coal is plentiful and cheap.

I don't care for state religions and the way they are used to justify fascism and communism.

Fossils aren't used as fuel. Fossils don't burn.

So you are mindlessly quoting The Guardian again.

Thank you for the repeats. You make a good Denier Aunt Sally.
