...I saw a comment from her father saying now that she's 17 she can travel on her own...It’s a pretty tough situation when parents are unable to come to grips with the reality that their child’s condition has not been "cured", even if for the moment they seem "better"....
Autistic children will have a much better chance of adapting to a real life when there's education, nurturing, tolerance, patience, and a non-chaotic existence....
Just the opposite of what she's being given...
Right now, she is kind of doomed...but not by the environment....What happens when the scripts and spotlight are "stolen"?

We can say the same for every single moron on this thread (and the other 379 Greta threads) diagnosing and prescribing treatment for her from thousands of miles away. Including the pretend "retired teacher" who knows as much about Ms. Thunberg as you and I know about doing brain surgery. She is not "sick" -- she has a differently-wired brain just as all autism spectrum disorder people have. Shame on all of them. Isn't it interesting how they are the same ppl who cried when some American psychologists publicly claimed that Trump has various mental illnesses, without examining him or even speaking with him?

Future generations will look upon her as a visionary, and as being way ahead of her time.
It's too bad that we can't set aside the 'global warming' part of this debate. It's become too politically charged, and distracting. The signs that we are not producing or consuming energy in any kind of sustainable way, or in a way that is healthy for the planet, are completely undeniable. We can 't continue this course for another 20-30 years, much less for generations.
We do need to start thinking in terms of long-term sustainability. As the slogans say, there is no Planet B. We sent dudes to the moon within a few years of thought and effort. We can tackle this one in a way that IMPROVES the economy and the health of the planet. It's not a zero sum game.

People with autism spectrum disorder are not "sick". A real special ed teacher would know this. Real teachers do not go on public forums and post hateful comments about children/adults with mental or physical differences. They do not bash people under the guise of pretending to care about them. Not a single shred of empathy comes through your posts, did you realize that?
Go have your own mental illnesses treated before you start worrying about what you think are other's problems. We'll see you back in 20 or 30 years, maybe. If they can find a cure, that is. You are the nastiest of the nasty, and a fraud. I'd ask if you have no shame but we know the answer to that: You don't.

No one said Trump is mentally ill. He does have some personality disorders as we all do to some degree.
