Greta Thunberg

It was the U.N. that propped her up on the world stage to proclaim her depression and hopelessness.

Your own depression and hopelessness far exceeds hers, wouldn't you say.

Don't fret though- I'm fairly sure that she has a soft spot for insignificant numb-bums.

Haw, haw.................................haw.

More fucking foreigners. So what? Are you afraid the UN is going to invade the US with a Swedish school girl as their Joan of Arc?

Not at all. I think it’s hideous they used a depressed, troubled and suicidal child to promote their agenda.
Looks like she’s happier now. Now that she’s cashed in she’s turned the tables and used them. Good for her!

They're fucking Euros. Why do you give a fuck? Shouldn't we be more concerned about the national security issues our military is facing due to climate change? Not Swedish schoolgirls and the goddamn UN?

‘Climate change is going to cost us’: How the US military is preparing for harsher environments
The aftermath of Hurricane Florence dumping 36 inches of rain on North Carolina in 2018 saw three Marine Corps installations flooded, costing taxpayers $3.6 billion in damage. A few weeks later, Hurricane Michael ripped through Tyndall Air Force Base, causing about $4.7 billion in damage at the Florida facility.

Then last year, leaders evacuated Travis Air Force Base in northern California due to nearby raging wildfires.

And today, Arctic Air Force bases hosting radar early warning systems and communication equipment are suffering coastal erosion, which is damaging seawalls, runways and infrastructure. Thawing permafrost and erosion threatens bases in the Arctic, damaging infrastructure. NASA tracks the extent of Arctic sea ice and estimates a declining 13.1 percent rate of change per decade.

“Climate change is going to cost us in resources and readiness,” Joe Bryan, senior climate adviser at the Pentagon, said during a July webinar. “The reality is that it already is.”

I so want to marry her. :lov1:

Hurricanes have hit US military bases well before Gorebal Warming was a thing. That hasn't changed. Same with wildfires, and other natural disasters. So? The environment isn't "harsher" either. It's the same.

Are you claiming the United States military is stupid?

I'm claiming the leadership of the US military is heavily political. If the civilian political leadership wants the military to use biofuels costing $50 a gallon, the military leadership buys $50 a gallon biofuel...

U.S. Air Force tests biofuel at $59 per gallon

Navy's Big Biofuel Bet: 450,000 Gallons at 4 Times the Price of Oil
The Navy just signed deals to buy 450,000 gallons of biofuels -- arguably the biggest purchase of its kind in U.S. government history. The purchase is a significant step for Navy Secretary Ray Mabus' plans to transform the service into an energy efficient fleet. But at nearly $1,100 per barrel -- eight times the price of traditional fuel -- the new fuels won't come cheap.

So if the powers-that-be in politics want to make Gorebal Warming an issue, it becomes an issue. Doesn't matter if it is real, imagined, overwrought, or accurate, it's what the leadership wants so that's what happens.

Ah. So you are calling them liars and cheats who violate their oaths on a daily basis just to keep their jobs. You know. Like Republicans and Democrats.

I disagree, but you aren't the first to hate and disrespect the military leadership of our nation, TA.

When is she going back home?...or are you an expat?

We go back for three weeks in Dec. to Leipzig. First time since the covid fiasco. They're getting ready for the Christmas Markets. Always enjoy them! Glühwein, with all the assorted foods from the booths! Mmm, mmm.

Awesome. Leipzig is a top center of classical music. Did occupation by the Soviets help that or hinder it?

My brother was born in a hospital in Heidelberg, but family lived in Mannheim on an Army base. I never saw much of Germany except the base and a religious retreat held at Berchtesgaden. We visited the Königssee too. The winters were bitter cold in those days. My dad, an armor platoon leader, never liked the cold much after 3 years in Germany.

Hope you both have a great trip!

Don't know but I doubt they hindered it. They've always been good w/ the arts. Yes, the Leipzig symphony is top notch and we have tickets for when we're there.
They also have a famous Boys Choir which is awesome to see and hear!

Hope you both have a great trip!

Youth activists protest against climate inaction at COP26
The rally led by Greta Thunberg comes as week one of the UN climate summit draws to a close amid calls for further commitments.

Youth activists are taking over the United Nations COP26 summit in Scotland to protest against what they say is a dangerous lack of action by leaders over climate change.

Two days of demonstrations, including a student march on Friday led by Greta Thunberg, were planned to highlight the disconnect between the glacial pace of emissions reductions and the climate emergency already swamping countries across the world, with thousands of people expected to take part.

If you're not with Greta- you're against your own planet.

Just how dumb are ya ?

I'm pointing out a reality and I even gave evidence of it.
