GZ: an angry racist out to kill?

What population of the public do you think are packing in public. Even in the open states? It is not a high percentage. If it were, then it would be more noticeable. Do not think that a criminal is discouraged if he thinks you are packing. Sure some criminals will look for easy pickings but a hardened criminal will not hesitate to hold you up at knife point and take your gun.

That's the entire idea of CCW. No one is aware that you're carrying. :palm:
Why do you FEEL that it would be more noticable.
Yes a criminal is discouraged if he thinks you may be carrying. Just because he's a criminal, doesn't automatically means he's stupid.
A "hardened criminal" is not going to put his life at risk and will look for easier targets, like scared Kanadians; because everyone knows that they're unarmed. :)

WOW! i thought I was pretty clear. If the wild west where everyone owned guns and basically had street justice worked so well? Why did they stop the practice? Why dont you see everyone walking around with their guns on their belts?

Because people don't feel like it? The same reason people hire land scapers or contractors to do stuff. Thas part of freedom. You can make your own choices.

you're missing what is being inferred. if carrying a gun is a right, but the state can charge for that 'permit' to carry said gun, how is it a right? Murdock v. commonwealth of PA is a case that the USSC decided a state could not charge a license, fee, or tax to exercise a right.

So your saying no permit is required. Just go buy a gun and a gun belt and you can start walking around? There mus be something preventing all those blacks buying guns. Could it be cost of a gun? I'm sure alot of people in the detroit area would not feel too comfortable being around a group of poor heavily armed black males.

Maybe you can explain why the Mulford act was passed?

May 2, 1967 openly armed members of the Black Panther Party marched on the California State capitol[16] in opposition to the then-proposed Mulford Act prohibiting the public carrying of loaded firearms. After the march in the state capitol building, the law was quickly enacted.[17]

laughing at you for still spreading this bullshit story. The Fast and Furious story I've been posting about for over a year now should tell you you're wrong. As for any guns going to Mexico, you should ask the ATF why they did this.

heck it was all over the news here too. The guns were coming from the NYC ghettos.....Doesn't sound bullshit to me.

here I googled some stuff for you to look at.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada–United_States_border

In past years, Canadian officials have complained of drug, cigarette and firearms smuggling from the United States while U.S. officials have complained of drug smuggling from Canada.

In July 2005, law enforcement personnel arrested three men who had built a 360-foot (110 m) tunnel under the border between British Columbia and Washington that they intended to use for smuggling marijuana, the first such tunnel known on this border.[13]

Cornwall, Ontario, is central to Canada's most notorious area of smuggling due to its location and transportation links which make it a crossroads for cross-border smuggling of illicit tobacco, drugs, firearms, and migrants. The neighbouring Mohawk territory of Akwesasne, which straddles the Ontario-Quebec-New York borders, enjoys a certain "First Nations" sovereignty which prevents Ontario Provincial Police, Royal Canadian Mounted Police and New York State Police from ready access to the source of smuggling operations on the territory. Customs and Excise members from the RCMP’s Northwest and Central regions have even gone to Cornwall to learn about the contraband phenomenon.[14] The smuggling industry is rampant, with collusion between local freelancers and international organized criminals

In AZ there's a huge number of people who walk around with guns on their belts, even though we have no law prohibiting a CCW.

You still laughing? The USA has been one of the major arms dealers world wide arming organized criminals and dictators alike.

From what you've presented, it seems like it would really suck to live in Kanada. :)

the notion you have that all 'hardened' criminals have no fear whatsoever of physical harm is quite naive. there are indeed a very small percentage of criminals who will just go ahead and shoot first and never ask questions, but the majority of them out there treasure their worthless asses too much to risk such occurrences.

Because people don't feel like it? The same reason people hire land scapers or contractors to do stuff. Thas part of freedom. You can make your own choices.

Nahhhh its more then that! laws were passed! Like the Sullivan Law.It was designed to keep guns out of the hands of uppity minorities, who were prone to criminal activity and couldn't be trusted like normal folks.

Here are many more thoughts on why. Actually in most states you DO need a license to carry.(Only for transporting, target shooting or hunting.)

Here's a perfect example:

THINK YOU KNOW GEORGE ZIMMERMAN? THIS NEW TIMELINE AND PROFILE COULD CHANGE THE PERCEPTION (AND THE CASE)

When the Trayvon Martin case first started garnering national attention, there were many that thought they knew who George Zimmerman was: an overzealous racist with a vendetta against young black men who was on a mission to assert power with his gun. But then little details started emerging, such as pictures of Zimmerman’s bloody head that could bolster his self-defense claim; CNN even backtracked and said the tape it once suggested showed Zimmerman uttering a racist slur was actually him most likely saying it was “cold.”

And now, Reuters has put together a detailed profile of Zimmerman that seems to suggest he was a concerned citizen that was trying to help fix his community and those in it reeling from recent crime. He was a compassionate neighbor, it seems, not a lunatic with a gun.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/04/25/us-usa-florida-shooting-zimmerman-idUSBRE83O18H20120425

there is a purported timeline at the first link...i suggest reading it before passing judgment on him or this thread. it might just be true.

Right...take Glenn Beck's word for something...I don't trust him for the same reason I don't trust you.

You've BOTH been caught lying too many times to be given the benefit of the doubt.

Seriously? I've driven all over the country and every gas station I've been to, from Maine to Florida, D.C. to Texas, was pay first.

Yes, that is how it is here on long island anyway. If you pay with a cc or debit card then you give them the card first, but not if you pay cash. Not for full service anyway.

she goes to a full service place... that is the difference. the full service wait until after the fill up as they are more likely to get tipped that way.

Almost every self service is going to be prepay.

Probably because too man people drive off without paying. Yup Crime is down in America!LOL I can see why!(note sarcasm).lol

no permit should be required, definitely no permit for open carry as it IS a right, but you're asking me to explain the actions of a bunch of frightened old people for enacting an unconstitutional law, the states entire law enforcement community then enforcing unconstitutional law, and a majority of the sheeple in that state for letting it all happen because an angry group of people who got tired of being abused by the state decided to stand up for themselves. Now try broadening your horizon on to the national scene and look at the 'militia' movement without wearing your racism goggles. Is it ok in your mind then to enact and enforce unconstitutional laws so YOU or the government can 'feel' safer?

anti gun media sites as your proof? LOL

If a known racist is walking around in public with a gun? If I were a black I would be concerned. One of many examples.
a black or hispanic person wearing a handgun doesn't bother me. As long as he's not acting a fool, trying to bully or intimidate people with it, why should I care that they are exercising their right to have ready self defense?
