My kids watched his show for many years without knowing this detail.

I didn't think it necessary. I still loved his show, very entertaining and creative.

Most gifted and talented people unfortunately have a dark side, I think it comes with the genius.

I am also a VN era vet and a local as well as federal LE (retired)..I also arrested VN vets later on in life who crossed the bridge and went astray...I respect their service...but hey when ya cross the line ya cross the line..end of story!

To be gifted as a entertainer ya have to have a dark side...I beg to differ..Ann Margret as well as others whom I had the privelege of meeting would not fall into this category...***sigh**

BB I am suprised at you picking on an active duty troop in a combat zone....That just is just plain wrong for a vet to do. Unless of course he/she was in the ABU grabass mess or something like that.


Yeah froggie war sucks bigtime, unless you are in logistics end of the game or a paper pusher, etc...

You were a lonely soldier, I will give you Ann Margaret...my husband got to see Danny Kaye and thought he was perfect! He never mentioned any women entertainers, but he respected the hell out of Danny K! and got teary eyed when he died! That is my hubby crusty on the outside and a softie on the inside! That is why I adore him, plus he is just a wonderful man!
 
I'm a gunner, not a driver, hence I cannot be asleep at the wheel. Those are pictures taken during off time or waiting to leave the wire. I dont have any inclination of being a hero. I'm not. I have seen no serious combat (unless you count pop shots from 200 yards away) and havnet been blown up, though a few of my friends have. I cant say I know the horrors of war, only the boringness of this one.

Lt.Kerry...he is the one who caused so many unecessary deaths at the end of the VN conflict...along with his bed buddy 'Hanoi Jane'...and I was addressing CaptBillyTheKid...I did not dish him or question his service...I just gave him my take on what he was saying!

Lots of other stuff yes :) but I will not slam a fellow vet on his service unless I have darned good reason.

however Lt.Kerry is a fraud..like I said I went into LE after my time in the barrel...and had absolutely no problemo with arresting my comrades from my era who crossed the line and violated the law...just because one served does not mean they get a free pass later on in life...Lt.Kerry crossed the 'Blue Line'...end of story!

Derelection of duty from what I can tell. Was more important to work on someones political campaign than to defend his country.

well both GW and Lt.Kerry are guilty...GW never went yet was not a fraud nor did he dish vets...on the other hand Lt.Kerry came home early with phoney (3)purple hearts...he demanded that the Navy grant him a transfer based on the 3 hit secenario...then he went on to dish all of us as "Baby Killers" and such when he himself was the guilty party...go figure..I prefer the Cheerleader who never dished my service... to the "Traitor" with a guilty conscience...and you?

Well they were both in the silver spoon military and I do not personally like either one of them. But Bush's records dissapearing is pretty suspect. and how he got into the guard considering the waiting list. I tried that and they just laughed at me.

He got into the guard like Lt.Kerry got a commission in the Navy Reserve...family pull..however GW and Lt Kerry both have issues...GW 's issues are not as bad...His records per not showing up for a flight physical... was more than likely because he used cocaine/alcohol as a youth(surely you can understand as you admitted the same he also admitted his problems while running for office)and did not want to fail the physical...Lt.Kerry on the other hand used drugs in the military and in college then attack us all as if we were below his standard..enough said...NO?
