Those officers are probably going to be charged with crimes. The majority tried to hold back the crowd, or as Gold Medal recipient Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman did, misdirected them. One officer died, over a 100 were injured, many maimed. That's not the same party you were trying to describe.
No one should get a pass on any crimes committed on 1/6 regardless of political or other affiliations.

The Jan. 6th event was in response to a catastrophic breakdown of our justice system.
When the election was stolen and the justice system refused to consider the evidence of the theft, this riot became our response to the overthrow of our government through deception.
Any objective observer or patriot who looks at the cause and effect of the event will be disappointed that Americans have submitted to the theft and allowed the illegal, anti-American takeover to stand with, the hollow cries of, "wait til 2024!"
And there is no reason to believe the Left won't steal that election as well.

Agreed about Democrats, but I think you are overinvested in your faith in Republicans as truth-tellers and standard bearers for morality.
Washington, DC is primarily bipartisan but Americans are not required to choose either one. They are free to be themselves. It's a matter of public agreement on supporting standards of conduct regardless of political ideology. It's a cultural thing and We, the People, don't have it.
