Those officers are probably going to be charged with crimes. The majority tried to hold back the crowd, or as Gold Medal recipient Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman did, misdirected them. One officer died, over a 100 were injured, many maimed. That's not the same party you were trying to describe.
No one should get a pass on any crimes committed on 1/6 regardless of political or other affiliations.
You’re suggesting the cops who waved the crowd by were involved in a conspiracy lol?
Let’s invoke Occam’s Razor since it’s been in play recently. The simplest explanation for the cops behavior is they didn’t perceive that aspect of the crowd to be a threat. So they allowed them in.
Simple. Not conspiracy necessary.
And in fact, that speaks to the subtext in this whole thing: the lack of preparation on the part of the Capitol Cops—and more specifically, members of Congress who were ultimately responsible for security preparedness that day. Not to mention any names, but a certain ‘Nancy’ played a critical role in that.
Granted, the lack of security was understandable since Trump supporters had a well established record of behaving themselves when gathered in large crowds. And in fact, that track record goes all the way back to the Tea Party days. So even though there were tens of thousands of Trump supporters protesting sketchy election results, there were in fact, some grounds to suspect no great trouble would arise out of it.
Regarding *the only* victim of homicide that day it would be nice to lay eyes on the report that cleared the cop because it clearly looked as if lethal force wasn’t necessary on an *unarmed* woman climbing through a broken window. Had she come in guns a blazing it would be different but she was climbing through a window and shot in the neck. That’s a kill shot. Isn’t that what they call it in the military?
Or put it this way, we’ve watched whole city blocks be destroyed when a perp is reaching for a weapon and gets killed by a cop and this woman was climbing through a window—and basically taken out.
Apparently this was ‘different’ for some reason. It would be nice to see how they arrived at that conclusion. Or whether it was contrived to suit an agenda.
