I think in general that alcoholism is defined as 1) increasing amounts must be taken to get the same effect, 2) the behavior is causing physical, societal, and/or family harm, 3) the person is unable to stop the behavior. IOW pretty much how all addictions are defined.

What Jesus DID do was offer an alternative. As he was the only one to ever live a sinless life (according to the law which he taught throughout his life) he offered himself to atone for the sins of the world.
But there is a price for that, you have to accept him as your lord and savior and repent of your sins. They are still sins. And there are LOADS of specific sins he did not mention. But it doesnt matter as he was not altering the nature of sin but rather the manner of forgiveness. Please not that he usually would send a newly forgiven sinner off with 'go forth and sin no more'.
