Yea us red state residents really have it bad. Low COL meaning we get to keep more of the money we earn, less pollution, friendlier people, just as good weather, and best of all we don't have to put up with a bunch of left wing idiots running our state.

Yes, I saw the movie- in a theater! I still don't see what that has to do with Joe Biden- But please explain how you think it does.

interestingly, my son sent me a text this morning that he's found his dream home.......north of Grand Rapids, MI, an 1800 sq foot 3 bed, 3 bath house.....with an attached 40 x 50 foot fully equipped shop with an 18' ceiling......it is listed for sale at $439,900.....personally I think it looks better than the OP property....oh, did I mention it comes with seven acres of land?.....

Wow. Damn. That's why I laughed last week when the RWers were rushing to the swooning couch over the BLM lady's purchase of a LA house (which they called a "mansion"-- but it's smaller than this one) for $1.4 million on a quarter acre lot. California real estate stuff costs. A LOT.

I'm amused by your apparent affection for the boonies, but I know my limitations.
If I'm more than walking distance from a subway station, I'm way too far out of circulation.
I'll pay for cabs at night, but the tube is fine during daylight hours.
The Grand Cherokee is for leaving town or grocery shopping, and the vintage Corvette is for summer laughs with other geriatric juvenile delinquents.
 
San Francisco is admittedly one of the most expensive places that I've been in the world. Very pretty town, though.

Lefty O'Doul's wasn't at all expensive. Maybe that's why my favorite Frisco hangout had to shut down after all these years.

San Francisco has strict rent control too. Rent control and lack of new development = lack of affordability.

Palo Alto is a suburb dominated by single family homes. It's not really comparable to condos/co-ops in major cities.
