How capitalism works?

One of my neighbors works an hourly salary job as a manager in a small golf store, his wife doesn’t work outside the home. They live on the water in a recently purchased 4.5 million dollar home.

Another couple I know in an even more expensive home work at the Apple Store and the wife as a nurse.

These are honorable professions, but they clearly do not pay even the mortgage on these homes that tend to increase im value by more than the Dow. They clearly have generational family money…the equity increase in their homes is higher than the average salary or the majority of Americans.

The result is that a very hard working family in valuable jobs such as EMS, or police officer will never improve their situation with hard work.

Our system of perpetuating generational wealth for hundreds years voids the basic principles of Capitalism. Yet, working class Republicans fight tooth and nail to keep taxes low on those living the high life by no merit of their own.

I’m not mad. I don’t plan to leave my kids much, I think doing so makes them weak, and harms the fabric of our culture. I do not plan to handicap my kids.

then I have to go back to you not raising your kids right. I'll also tell you that MOST kids who receive large inheritances DID earn it with time lost from a parent because they worked. Human nature is wanting your offspring to have a better life than you did. withholding that inheritance is selfishness and jealousy.

Disagree, I’d be very happy if they have as good of a life as I’ve had, hard to get better, but I’d love it if they can. I can promise you, money is not what would make it better. Having money, once able to make ones basic needs does not result in a better life.

Withholding? The inheritance tax does nothing until you hit 5.5 million, 11 for a couple. Then it is a small percentage of what comes over that 11 million.

Teddy started the inheritance tax so that families would not accumulate enormous wealth over time. He was very rich and knew who he was talking about. They would use their wealth and power to change the country to make them even richer and more powerful. The idea of equality and fairness is just a poor people's belief, The Duponts, Vanderbilt, and Kochs are others have no use for it. Teddy was right.

you might want to reread my statement. I was not talking about tax withholding, but about jarod withholding an inheritance from his kids.
