I doubt Hillary wrote "change you can Xerox"

It was a bad moment for her in the debate; I posted it because the plagiarism charge drives me a little nuts, and I couldn't believe she stuck by it.

That said, she was very civil for the rest of the debate, as was Obama, and she resisted a few clear openings to go on the attack, as I'm sure some of her staff wanted her to. I think she has made a decision to not go nuclear, and to position herself better as a potential candidate again down the road.

Sorry for being late to the game here. I missed the debate last night. Who said the 'change you xerox' quote and what promoted that line?

Clinton used the phrase 'xeroxed change' when referring to the change Obama would bring, referencing the speech he copied from that guy...

I am hoping she will resist the urge to fight on after super Tuesday #2. I know she wants it bad.. and in 8 years shes going to be an old duck.. what 69, 70years old?

Do you belive Bush ever wrote anything?

Bush has, without doubt, been the most scripted candidate of my lifetime. His aides are famously concerned when he goes "off script," and I think we're all able to identify those times fairly easily.

Reagan read off of index cards in meetings at the White House, but even he could be somewhat extemporaneous at times. Bush is truly blithering.

Using notes to keep yourself organized is not scripting. Now Bush, yeah, scripted. Reagan. It is desperation to pretend that the man had no brains of his own. There are decades and decades of speeches and evidence of his intelligence to go by.

Who wrote Bush's papers at Yale? I often have wondered that... or was he required to submit any?

Having a speech writer and using another's speech word for word, two different things. When Americans are lying dead in American streets it's not the time to resort to half assed proxy wars like the little bombing campaign Obama has lined up for our ally who just went to the polls a few days ago, Pakistan. We'll have all kinds of friends bombing our allies we've had jump through hopes and 'democratize'

He was in a meeting with a group from Japan and spent the 1st 5-10 minutes reading off of index cards that were mistakenly given to him & that had been meant for a meeting with representatives from the auto industry.

Oops.

What a despicable misrepresentation, on both counts.

Could you detail this "bombing campaign" he has planned?

you all ever present or give speeches? earlier in my career i did it to huge groups.. 400+ people and believe me i could not remember all of it. With the nerves and trying to remember everything else about presenting including looking, interacting, body language, speech clarity.. its inevitable that without notes with at least bullet points you will forget something.

Now times that by thousands per year. thats multiple times per day the candidates are doing this.

It's actually the exact opposite, his strength is in his off the cuff talking to people, big stuffy speeches is definitely not his forum.

Which Bush have you been watching over the years? I have never seen him in any sort of true comfort or eloquence. He's a mess.

I love how speeches, which are kind of a big part of the job, are now nothing more than "big, stuffy" things, just because you know Bush is a flunkie who can't talk.

"There are terrorists holed up in those mountains who murdered 3,000 Americans," said Obama in a speech billed as a major security-issues address.

"They are plotting to strike us again . . . If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won't act, we will."

Gee, where to start . . .

Pakistan is a fiercely Islamic nation of 170 million, possessing deliverable nuclear weapons and comprising some of the most militarily challenging terrain on the planet...

Imagine the uproar WRL would be in if it was Obama who could not speak in complete sentences.
