Kinda, he did not ask for money, but he was selling his book and after the lunch sat at a table by the exit signing the book for anyone who bought it.

I was a guest at the event, he did not collect a speaking fee. You had to be a guest or a member of the club that invited him.

I went to a similar event with Nikki Haley a month or so again. She was also selling her book.


I think its a contractual thing with their publishers.

When Biden took those documents, the crime was a misdemeanor and the statute of limitations was 2 years. (Biden can't be charged under the law.)
When Trump took the documents, it was a felony and the statute of limitations was 5 years. (Trump is still subject to the law.)

I recall that Ms. Reno took full responsibility for the events at Waco. It would be very difficult to find one of your beloved Republicans who takes responsibility for anything, even something as minor as leaving the cap off the toothpaste.

Given how frequently MAGAs hop into the way back time machine to complain about what Janet Reno was doing 30 years ago, about Robert Byrd's Klan association 90 years ago, and about Bill Clinton's call consensual BJ of a quarter century ago, the modern 21st century Democratic party must be reasonably clean and essentially ethical.

We tend to police our own a lot more vigorously than the (R)s, whose motto is "Yeah so he's a corrupt cheating abusive fascist lying bullying seditious traitor -- he's OURS and we're keeping him."
