If Christianity is true, why is there so much evil in the world?

So basically, you just want to complain and feel no compulsion to actually have a thought. :good4u:

But then; that was your free will, to remain inane. :D

Sounds like you're resorting to name-calling to change the subject.

If there is an all-powerful god, then he can create create a universe where we could have both free will and no evil. He would be able to do this because he would not be limited to our human logic. Maybe we can't comprehend how this would be possible, but an all-powerful god should be able to.
But ok, let's say that's not possible. Then a universe with no free will and no evil would still be the better choice.

Sure. A world without free will would be better than a world with evil.
Actually, if this god is all-powerful, he'd be able to create an existence with both free will and no evil.

ANY god would be able to create an existence with both free will...AND NO SIN.

Evil and sin are not the same thing. With regard to the god of the Bible, they are barely related. Or, as far as supposed Christians are concerned, evil and sin are barely related with regard to Paul.

For Christians, Paul is more important to Christianity than Jesus.

The reason this is a bad analogy is because, if there is a good god, he has the ability to get rid of evil. Whereas soap is not an all-powerful sentient being.

sure he could..........but there might be reasons that you are ignoring, why doing so wouldn't be a good idea.......reasons already covered in this conversation.......

Yes.. Matthew is trying to make Jesus fit ancient prophesies.

the atheist's opinion....remember, you're the one who had to translate Isaiah as saying the exact opposite of what he said in order to "prove" your point ...the simple facts are that Jesus did fit the prophecies.......because he was the one the prophecies were about.........

If you read the thread you will find that I already answered this exact question with this:

Masturbation itself is never listed as a sin, however lustful thoughts are a sin.

Matthew 5:27–30
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart."

The verses I would most associate with this type of sin, were I to be a Christian, would be in letters to the Corinthians and Romans:

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). It is difficult for me to see how jacking off would glorify this God.

“Everything that does not come from faith is sin” (Romans 14:23). I cannot see how jacking off would be something that comes "from faith".

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body” (1 Corinthians 6:19–20). I think this one is obvious. How would you be honoring this God when you rubbed one out?

So, having lustful thoughts about your wife is a sin? Lol. Right.

Such as? The free will argument is a bad one, since losing free will would be worth it if the result is no evil.
Besides, according to Christianity, we once had the Garden of Eden. So why doesn't this god just turn the entire world into the sinless society of the Garden of Eden? Only this time, don't put that one bad tree there.

What name did I call you, seeing as how you've made an accusation??

You keep offering the same situation; but have yet to explain how it's possible without free will, except to suggest that being a robot would be better. :palm:

Without free will then what would be the purpose of even being?

We would still be able to enjoy life. Technically, we don't have free will now, since our subconscious makes decisions before our conscious mind does. We're pretty much conditioned to think since birth, plus genetics play a role too.

If there was a god, he could also get rid of things like disease and hunger.

would it?.......would it make humans happy or fill God's intent?......

This is nothing more then yet another liberal who refuses to accept the FACT, that they and they alone are responsible for the choices they make and just want to put the blame on God for not FORCING them to make the right choice(s).

How can anyone enjoy anything, when it's nothing more then a scripted life.

You're just upset, with the realization that you and you alone will be held accountable for the choices you have made and will make.

Well our lives are scripted now, and I still enjoy things.
I'm going to be held accountable even though there is no free will, so it's a moot point.
