If you lie to get a good loan!

No, not really. Its is not civil or criminal. He is being prosecuted by the State of New York for having violated laws, it is civil enforcement but it uses criminal laws. It is a hybrid.

So made up bullshit...just to get him on something...the government is just making up hybrid laws as they go...can u say NK China Russia

Have these banks sued Trump?

This type of case happens in NY all the time, they did not make it up for Trump. Silly or ignorant, which one?

Not at all. Trump breaks laws and regulations casually. His followers like you do not care what kind of person he is. The case is real and Trump cannot win it.

Have the banks sued him? Are they claiming he defrauded them?

If you lie to the bank and still pay back the loan on time, you still committed fraud!!!

Trump got better terms due to his lies.

The bank got defrauded out of an interest rate and took a bigger risk than they expected.

What a silly post.

Everyone selling real estate exagerrates its value, everyone buying tries to devalue it, everyone seeking a loan tries to exagerrate their assets.

Every homeowner must be guilty of "fraud"; NO BANK FILED A COMPLAINT AGAINST TRUMP OVER THIS.

Exaggerate? There is a point where it becomes a lie. Trump tripling the size of Trump Tower appt is a great example. In fact, mortgage companies and tax assessors use comparables to determine if you are being dishonest. Trump was big time lying.

The bank gets the property appraised, the appraisal is not based on what Trump (or you) says, but by official appraisers reading government documents and then using approved appraisal methods. This is one thing that cannot really be lied about, there are actually documents the builders got when your property was built called permits that list things like how many square feet are there, how many rooms, bathrooms, etc. Trump saying it is bigger would not change the result of the appraisal.

This isn't fraud. There is no victim here. The bank gave him a loan based on the appraised value of the property, not based on what the owner guessed it was worth, even partisan lawyers know that this is true, but they won't admit it because they are partisan.

So you don't understand criminal fraud. No victim required.

I think there is a victim here, and its the people. If the bank or the guy applying for a loan lie about the creditworthiness of the borrower, the bank's bottom line is not as healthy as is required and is more likely to need to use the FDIC insurance or get a bailout. The bank also has less money to lend to more creditworthy people.

The thing here is that, agree with it or no, the law is the law and should be enforced when violations of it come to the attention of the prosecuting authorities.

Big boys have different rules. They don’t necessarily get an appraisal if your financial statements look good.

What lie?

The lie that his prosperities were worth more than they were worth. If he did not think it benefited him, why did he lie? Why did he lie about the size of his condo if he did not believe it would benefit him?

You continue to prove yourself a moron. Get your ass to work and sue Trump.

I have been asked to do so, more than once by potential clients. I decline. I am running a business for profit and Trump does so much dirty shit, it is not cost effective for a private firm to sue him.

If the banks were hurt...did they sue him?

So how do you think it went down? Trump went into the bank and said, "My properties are worth $100 gazillion", and the bank just handed over money? Is that how it all happened?
