That's a cop out term. You know darn well that most of the refugees seeking asylum on our southern border would never be allowed in as legal immigrants.
President Trump has said the same thing. That if people want to emigrate here that they should do it legally. And he has also said that he wants more legal immigrants than ever before to do so. And that was a lie:

I don't get information from the DNC. That is a political party's leadership. To the point, if you had looked at the link I posted you would have learned that it was ABC news, and you would also find that the report is correct, those are President Trump's exact words, right out of the SOTU speech. Those words were the opposite of what he did. He said he supports "more legal immigration than ever," yet he has Executive Ordered that the levels be cut back. That's lying. There's no fake news about it. Said one thing, did the opposite. Lying. Cut and dried. He lied. It's troubling that his followers never call him on this and many lies, and that they ignore all of it and continue to support him. I think it is a stupid mistake.
I don't know for a fact but I suspect that Congressional attempts to fix immigration have indeed been attempted, probably by both parties, but they can't agree on what needs to be done.
And on that we are very much alike. Like on so many issues, we agree on the logical action to be taken in response to the given facts; we simply disagree on the facts. It makes all kinds of sense to me that you would believe the things you do if your facts were indeed true. I just don't think they are. What I think the basic facts are is very different from your understanding. I believe it when I hear that illegal immigration is actually at a historical low. I don't think there is a crisis at the border, no emergency. I hope President Trump will not cry wolf just so he can do more needless government spending. The sky is definitely not falling.
I think we are doing an effective job of keeping them out. I don't believe the ones that do slip in are bringing more crime and drugs. That doesn't make any sense that people would risk their lives to trek through the desert and haul drugs for profit. El Chapo was just found guilty. We learned his methods. He did not use immigrants trekking through the desert. Those people don't want to carry anything more than they need to survive. Just carrying enough water is a huge burden.
I don't think immigrants working jobs here are making it too hard to find work. Unemployment is low, even with all the millions of immigrants already here. I think this whole notion that immigration is a big problem is all whipped up by Trump as a rallying cry to the gullible types who believe the propaganda. Hatred is a great motivator. It has worked for demagogues before. You know what a demagogue is, right? That's Trump. He fits the definition. It's all a big distraction so people won't focus in the Russia investigation, which he is also lying about. He needs to be investigated to the bone and let the investigations focus on money and money laundering. How does a guy with no credit in the USA go and get millions in Russian money and it's all legit? Makes zero sense. The whole hatred of immigrants thing is a smoke screen. I believe illegal immigrants just want to work at anything they can find. They take the dirty jobs, the grunt jobs. Picking sweet potatoes. Digging them, actually. Fun stuff like that. Criminals are not willing to do that kind of work. Immigrants just want to stay out of trouble. They don't go to the government applying for assistance. They don't want the government to even know they exist. The use less government assistance than American Citizens do and they commit fewer crimes per capita than American citizens do. Those are verifiable facts. Those facts do not support your view. You can't explain why. So I don't believe you. I believe the facts. I know you have your own reasons for believing what you do 'leftist judges' (with no evidence of this claim) and you really believe it. Like I said. We simply disagree on what the basic facts are.
