Hillary Clinton was actually the second most unpopular politician at the time. Hillary and Trump were both running against the only person they could beat. McCain was running against a super popular candidate and at the time the GOP was very hated because of Bush.

Not according to Obama. She was the most qualified to ever run for the office. It's clear you believe the election is a popularity contest rather than one picking the best candidate.

Well Obama was wrong. And unfortunately, yes, it is a popularity contest. Look at the past few elections. The more popular and entertaining person always wins.

Most of Trump's biggest supporters don't know anything about his policy. They like him because he comes across as real and funny.

His election was nothing more than identity politics from the left. In his case, they placed skin color over reproductive organ on the importance scale.

What will it be in 2020? Gender? Race? Sexual Orientation? Will they go with one of the two old white guys?
