In 1959 Socialist Hero Fidel Castro promised Free Elections within a year

It is said that Batista took 30% of the cash raised in the gambling hotels built in Havana – run by the Mafia – while his wife took 10%. As the cash that flowed through these hotels was so great, the 60% left – if these figures were correct – would have still represented a massive profit for those involved.

Quote from John F. Kennedy: "At the beginning of 1959 United States companies owned about 40 percent of the Cuban sugar lands—almost all the cattle ranches—90 percent of the mines and mineral concessions—80 percent of the utilities—practically all the oil industry—and supplied two-thirds of Cuba's imports". So you see why more than a couple people were very eager to get rid of Castro after they lost all this source of income.

Another quote from JFK when he was campaigning for president.

"Fulgencio Batista murdered 20,000 Cubans in seven years ... and he turned Democratic Cuba into a complete police state—destroying every individual liberty. Yet our aid to his regime, and the ineptness of our policies, enabled Batista to invoke the name of the United States in support of his reign of terror.

Administration spokesmen publicly praised Batista—hailed him as a staunch ally and a good friend—at a time when Batista was murdering thousands, destroying the last vestiges of freedom, and stealing hundreds of millions of dollars from the Cuban people, and we failed to press for free elections".

The US backed Batista.

Batista was just one of the many US right wing sponsored dictators throughout Latin America and the rest of the world. The reason for this is that the US needed someone in power in those countries that would prevent any communist takeover, and to effectively neutralize any communist or socialist movement in said countries.

Cuba was America's playground.

And many, in both Cuba and the U. S., saw Castro as a democratic alternative to Batista. Many of those who fought with Castro felt he betrayed the revolution.

That is why many Cubans, including the father of Ted Cruz, left Cuba. They believed Castro betrayed the revolution by executing perceived enemies, cracking down on any civil liberties, nationalization....

The US backed Batista NOT Castro.

The US backed american corporate interests, same as it ever was.

So I see why america made it about Castro.

John F. Kennedy.

At that point that President Eisenhower ordered Director Allen Dulles of the CIA to devise the means to get rid of Castro’s regime in which Washington’s “hand would not show.” Agents attached to the US embassy in Havana contacted Catholic and other youth groups who objected to Fidel’s communist friends. They received airline tickets to leave the country and salaries to train as soldiers in Guatemala. Fidel had spies in Miami and Central America sending him progress reports on the émigré brigade in training. Now he had Eisenhower’s diplomats on the defensive. They had to deny Castro’s accusations about an upcoming CIA invasion.

In the meantime, Castro announced plans to socialize the economy, a project that Che Guevara headed up. What was the White House to do? The 1960 election had swung into full gear. The Democratic challenger in the first presidential debates famously said that he was not the vice-president who presided over the communist takeover of the island just 90 miles offshore from Key West. Eisenhower responded with toughness. He lowered the amount of sugar the United States imported from Cuba, and Fidel seized upon this provocation to nationalize the remaining US-owned properties, especially the sugar refineries.

East Germany was NOT a threat to the US, nor was communism. You just like histronics.

North Korean wasn't a threat to the U.S., but Democrat Truman still sent troops to Korea.

Vietnam wasn't a threat to the U.S. when Democrat Kennedy and Democrat LBJ sent our soldier there.

You can spit facts all you like, but as usual, you have no wisdom and no line of logic to follow :palm:
