The answer is no. Even if that's what we wanted, it would be impossible from a logistical standpoint. Personally, I would like to see universal background checks, a ban on high capacity ammo clips, a ban on semi-automatic rifles, and a more consistent overall approach to gun legislation. It is a fact that stricter gun laws in a state are directly correlated to lower gun death rates. If crime is really that huge an issue in Republican circles, why do they refuse to to put some controls on the tools that criminals use. Seems like an obvious question. Railing against the murder rate while making guns easier to obtain seems counterproductive, but that's just me. In any case, the answer to your question is no.
