In 2016, it was mostly putting barriers to registration in the way of less affluent voters, who would be more likely to vote democratic.

What sort of fix would you call it? Hardly democratic, is it? Public opinion polls tell you what public opinion is, whether you like it or not.

Most times, polls simply tell you what whoever conducted the poll wants you to believe (by means of skewing the results due to improper methodology).

Those who established the treasonable state clearly didn't want democracy, which would have meant staying British, yes. Slavers didn't want democracy either, obviously. I don't know about trumpite America, but most polls have pretty careful rules.
