It's Time To Go Single-Payer!

A few years ago I read an interview with one of the Kochs. He was talking about the power of money and his goals. The issue of healthcare came up. The reporter said that the people who brought single player and healthcare to other countries were heroes, like Tommy Douglas in Canada. That the US is seeing other countries pay much less and get better coverage. The Koch said "don't worry about that. We are taking care of it". I thought to myself that there was no way they could subvert health care in other countries, but they are .

Whatever they decide, GBA, I want Congress to partake. They vote their salaries, they vote their benefits. So if they decide what is good for us, they should try it on themselves.
Can't get a budget passed? No paycheck for you.
Can't get a HCB passed? Stand in line in the ED like the rest of us.

People in single payer countries do not fear going into bankruptcy like in America. Member of a family gets real sick and you could end up homeless.The dread of family destruction with illness is real here.

Countries with universal medical care have half the cost of America and have full coverage. They get care at least as good. They get preventative care . The American model is just plain wrong. When Taiwan was going to provide healthcare they came to America to see what to avoid.

Health insurance companies are in healthcare denial business. Refusing care makes more profit. So they make you fight and squabble for what you paid for. Ever get sick and log the phone calls and letters you made? It is a horrible experience. They use rescission to deny care. They have doctors whose function is to find a way to deny care. Insurance companies add cost and complication only. Our system is a mess.
 
If you say so. But it was a true story. How does my response make it less credible, when I made it clear that it was my thoughts? Not used to people staitng that ?: Shouldn't you back up your horrible position, or do you just snipe. Drive by posts with no backing is all you offer.

Living in reconstruction days aren't you? The Repubs were anti slavery in the beginning, but that was long ,long ago. It is the home of racism now. The Voters right acts were by Johnson a Dem.. The south has been the home of bigots and part of the Republican party to this day. The march on Selma was in the teeth of Republican haters. Southern governors and senators have fought equal rights for generations. The south is solid Republican because of the hatred. When the Democrat Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act in 1964, he said the Dems have lost the south for a generation. He did not know how long hatred and bigotry could stay. The solid Republican south is anti black and anti gay until this day. That is who you are.
 
Must be tough being a teenager. I can see why you are a Trumpet. The subject matter always eludes you. Some day you may actually respond to a thread and offer some insight. But I can see it is not this day.

But these Communist countries don't have the level of R&D nor innovation that the US has. Why develop new technologies, procedures, medicines when Big Daddy Government is only going to tell you "NO"! And that is exactly what happens with Government run medical "care". Sorry, but I'd rather take fee for service, and that's what healthcare is; a service, over some goody two shoes "morality" that Liberals claim they have.
 
You say that because our medical companies say it over and over. Over a million Americans go abroad for Medical Tourism. They get procedures done in foreign lands. They get better care and get a vacation on top of that and save a lot of money in the process. The truth is that other countries the people have access to healthcare when they need it. that makes them overall healthier than Americans. We have people walking around with untreated high blood pressure and diabetes. The wealthy get great healthcare. We have had organizations that bring healthcare to rural areas with camps that provide coverage to people with no insurance and few places to obtain it.

If every compassionate liberal that voted for Hillary voluntarily paid for the healthcare of someone in need it would be problem solved wouldn’t it?

California and Vermont both seriously considered single payer but backed off because of the cost--it would double the state budget.

You guys act like people had no access to health care before Obamacare. You forget that emergency rooms would treat people even if they didn't have insurance.
