Jade's favorite places share. Limited ban list.

Toledo has a number of restaurants with Golden Arches ,their food is shit!
Happy JD?

Do I have to talk to Owlwoman for you to behave here, since you're not taking me seriously? I can't just give you a pass on my rule of leaving that drama outside. It wouldn't be fair, and I'd get an earful from Yurt. Please be serious, and share your favorite person, places, or things if you want to chat here.

Golden Dragon in Fremont Ohio, best Chinese in NW Ohio!

Watch out for the speed trap, after switching onto 54, past Tucumcari. They get you a ways off the switch, before you even get to noticing what the speed limit is. It's bullshit, but would cost more to go back, and contest the bullshit, than to just pay the extortionists.

Yea...I had something similiar happen to me in the I-40 Bridge crossing the Mississippi River into West Memphis, Arkansas which is like the ghetto of the Memphis metro area. Got pulled over by a deputy sheriff dressed like a storm trooper. Called me stupid for speeding over the bridge. I proved I was by saying "I'm smart enough not to be a Deputy Sheriff in West Memphis, Arkansas". Which was a very true statement. With a bit of reflection and a week spent in jail....I rather regret making that comment.

Eagles is attacking the thread by groaning everything, and making a mock discussion, and you go after Owls for calling it out? I'll allow crap at Eagles since he is stalking and is attention needy, but you don't go after a fellow poster in these discussions of mine. It's the rule I made, and I only give a few warnings.

Psst -- That's a sock of you-know-who. Just ignore it.

For real? That's hilarious.

Yea that actually happened. He got all pissy with me cause he was giving me shit for wearing a sweat shirt with a pot leaf in public. When I explained to him that it wasn't a pot leaf but a Buckeye Leaf his mood didn't improve. Then he started giving me crap for speeding on the bridge ( I was going 60 in a 45 mph zone) and when he made the stupid comment I retorted as I said. His next comments were "I need you to get out of the car and put your hands on the roof.". At that point I knew I had done screwed up.

I have no doubt I got the "Damned Yankee" treatment. I got the last laugh on him though. After I was let out I was able to leave that shit hole town of West Memphis, AR and he had to stay there. LOL

My favorite place is my backyard...lounging in a lawn chair with my wife...a drink...a cigar.

But I'm an archeology buff...and here are two places I have visited that I would recommend with gusto to anyone:

The ruins of Pompeii. This picture shows Vesuvius in the background. If you are not stirred by these ruins (or the great ruins of the Forum in Rome)...you must be dead.

The other is the Tower. I've spent hours and hours...days...looking through all the stuff housed here...peeking in rooms that famous people have lived in before having their heads cut off out on the green. One of the most interesting places in the world.

Yes it is.
Sante Fe Vineyards between Sante Fe and Taos has award winning wine.
I lived in Ruidoso and Alamagordo. Mountains and desert. Loved both.

Our brother-in-law who stayed with us last summer agrees; he liked this area just fine but his spirit belongs to the desert. It's easy to see why so many artists are drawn to the Taos area especially; the light and color are amazing.

That photo of Pompeii gave me chills.

If you're sure it's Top, or Eagle Eye, you can report them. That action got Annieoakley, and their sock perma-banned. That would give some delicious irony, and peace, until she came back later that day with a sock account.

Only been in the Tower of London once many moons ago. I have past it many times, indeed you can see it coming out of Tower Hill station but have never been back. What puts me off are the queues and the entry price.

I loved Pompeii but be sure to go in Spring or Autumn, going in summertime is not advised as the heat is brutal with very little shade. To be honest I preferred Herculaneum, much smaller and easier to get around.

Yeah, I missed Herclaneum...and wish I had made the trip. But...

I probably have spent as much time in the tower as Raleigh. It absolutely fascinated me...and when I was going (back in the mid-1950's) there were no queues...and the price was right for a GI.

I did get a tour of the upper floor of the Naples Museum...for a pack of American cigarettes. Back then...almost nobody except scholars got to see the porn of Pompeii. Incredible...statues like something Michelangelo might have crafted; paintings of the same quality.

Here's a place I've wanted to visit since I was maybe 7. I always saw pictures of them in atlas books, and the state became a favorite. Anyone know what these are?
