Kill The Bill!

Well let's look at the long term impact from a notable war in the first half of the last century and a notable social welfare program:
How much do we pay for the Phillipine-American war in 2010?
Now how much do we pay for SS in 2010?

Hmmm, zero dollars versus over $650 billion and rising fast, which oh which should we take?

And I want to make very clear I am not justifying that war or any war, but I am always most concerned with financial cost to my kids and there is no question which is worse in order of magnitude.

YOU are purposely naive to history if you cannot understand that a war always ends while social welfare spending always increases.

Whats more important to you, Money or innocent lives? It seems you are comparing lives lost in Iraq to money lost in the health care bill.

And I want to make it very clear I am not conseeding that I belive this Bill will cost anywhere close to your estimates.

Both. That's what I am saying this is not some false dilemna where you have to pick one or the other, a little bit of bad spending does not justify more big bad spending.

And I want to make it very clear I am not conseeding that I belive this Bill will cost anywhere close to your estimates.

It's $800 billion per year to insure just 1/3rd of Americans for gov healthcare, it's no secret the Dems are looking to get everyone else covered. Their sad estimate of a trillion over 10 years is a massive joke.

it's more money that was ever asked for in reparations, I"m shocked the republitards haven't tried that amongst their fear tactics.

I remember when they were enraged that Bill Clinton's budget would destroy America, they shut the Government down they were so WORRIED about it...

Under that budget we had one of the best economies in the post war era!

That's right...they, the Republican Congress, killed Hillary Care and got Clinton to sign onto Welfare Reform...

Bizarre Dixie. Make up your mind, will ya!

Mere days ago, you and most other wingnuts were basically pleading and begging Democrats to pass this bill, with much LOL'ing and high-fiving going around, and with dire warnings that this would destroy the Democratic party and ensure a republican majority for a generation.

Hey man, what's the deal now with groveling and begging people to "kill the bill"?

Killing the bill is really putting the country over the party, yes the Repubs would have big gains if the Dems force this monstrosity through, but I think deep down most Conservatives are more intested in stopping government growing, stopping unsustainable debt increases and really stopping irreversible Socialism.

But forcing people to buy private insurance from state by state monopoly operators is more like fascism.

The dems need a victory just to get over thier fear of republicans in Congress. It's a piece of stinky shit at best, but dems have been getting thier ass kicked for so long they are clueless on how to lead.

Oh they seem to know how to lead... with gestapo tactics, and iron fist, and a shoe pounding on the podium. It's not so much their leadership as their having to do away with the Constitution in order to lead. That's where I become a little bothered by it.

Bullshit republitards are concerned with stopping Obama at all cost. Debt didn't bother you white trash morons when a trillion was piled on with no benefit for the wars.

Well, that was before they decided to ignore the Constitution and that goofy-looking empty headed bitch in charge, came up with this idiotic idea to pass legislation without voting on it! It was bad enough she didn't have the supermajority, it was worse that she had to use reconciliation, but this "no vote" thing takes the cake with me. She doesn't have a simple fucking majority, and so, she is going to "deem" the bill passed? WTF is that?

If a REPUBLICAN were pulling a stunt like this, you Libtards would be literally standing on your ear shooting bricks out your ass! It would be the worst Constitutional crisis in American history... Neocons would have effectively proclaimed themselves Supreme Rulers and rendered the Constitution meaningless! We had to have a fucking supermajority to get the president's judicial nominees passed! What happened to all those lectures about how we aren't a "democracy" and this isn't "mob rule" and our system of government is designed to give the minority a voice? All that goes right out the window on this! You can't even muster a fucking up or down vote, so you are going to "DEEM" something into law! AMAZING!

If you don't want to vote for the bill, you can just vote against it. It's known in advance that if you vote on this issue the other issue is going to be passed into law as well. I don't see the trickery.

ghestapo, lol mr KKK your party is the pary of war. But thanks it's comedically moronic to call pounding on a table that. Bamatard

Article 1 Sec. 7 is the problem, the legislation HAS to be voted on! You can't "deem" something has passed if it hasn't been voted for! Particularly something that doesn't even have a majority of support! My God, what the fuck???? You are telling me, if the REPUBLICANS had some RIGHT-WING cause on the ropes, and were pulling this procedural bullshit, you'd be perfectly FINE with it? I don't buy that for one second! If the R's couldn't pass something with a goddamn supermajority, they didn't get it... and it didn't matter how insignificant it was! Tyranny of the Majority.... remember that? No, of course, you've forgotten all about that now!

Freakin hilarious man!!

So what's up Dix? Which way you going to go with this?

Do you or do you NOT want this bill passed?

Funny you claim that because Republicans have used this method of passing bills.

Jarod you fool. THis is just a law that all people must be customers of the insurance monopolies you claim to hate. There will be no "cost cutting" or "public option".

You're a fool.

I agree a public option would make it better. Clearly! And I still hope they will add one later, but this bill is better than what we have now and the insurance companies are not monopolies, you have many choices... do you know what a monopoly is?

Look. It's a chart:

Republicans had no problem utilizing this procedure when they were in the majority. Suddenly it's "tyrrany!"

Hilarious.

I think passing the bill and the amendment at the same time through the self-executing rule is stupid and a mistake, but the Republican hypocrisy on the issue makes me want the Democrats to do it anyway.
