Let the good times roll...

Not that this helps but to know you are not alone here's what's happening where I live.

Our school just received a nice, large library grant. We’ve bought new books and have bought chrome books so that we are very near a 1:1 student to technology ratio (a chrome book for every student). There’s all kinds of education money here for gadgets and stuff, but none for salaries. Every dollar of money in education is earmarked for this or for that, at least in Oklahoma. A building fund or a textbook account or a cafeteria fund, etc ... and then general fund which can be used for salaries. In Oklahoma the [money that can go into] general funds of schools has been consistently cut for the last 12 years or so.

Good teachers are leaving for Texas and Arkansas by the hundreds. I’m here because I’m loyal. I love what I do and the area in which I live. Plus I have another job to supplement my salary by about 10k per year. And I’m getting older and my bills have gotten smaller. But I do worry about the future of our state when it comes to education.

Look at the bright side. You’re teaching bright young students with real talent, ability and futures.

It could be worse. You could be stuck with paste munchers like Grind or Super Freak...or worse...Skidmark.

That which they give away is a drop in the bucket. Or do people not realize this? Companies that have gone out of their way over the years, to exploit every pay loophole, is suddenly throwing money at people. You'd think they won the lottery jackpot. Oh wait, they essentially did. :palm:

Your employer gave you a bonus. They allowed you to stay despite being a drain on the company. If you work really hard, they may give you a new toilet brush to use.

The shit just got deeper. This has been a very tough year professionally and personally but the professional sacrifices paid off. I was promoted earlier this week. I’m out of technical support and back into field ops.
Congrats and Merry Christmas, I hope 2018 gets better my friend.

You know what freaks me out is that come bonus time a lot of my colleagues are complain and bitch about bonuses. I’m like happy happy to get a bonus. I’m not tasked with growing the business, like most of my coworkers, and my base salary is higher than those who are, sales mainly, so I’m happy to even get a bonus.

I thought all workers grew the business in some way? That's what the $15/hour minimum wage pushers said. They claimed the workers that have been making the owners money should share in a portion of it. Which one is it?

So it's back to shit shovelling, well done!

Because you are subservient to the Teacher's Union. Here we have a right to work without being forced to pay dues to an organization that does nothing for exemplary teachers...

prove it does nothing for them idiot
