The truth is many thousands of homes in America are being bought up by huge companies that refurb them and rent them out. One Canadian company owns over 80,000 of them. If you want to sell your home, they offer cash and almost immediate closing. Homes are skyrocketing in price . So renting is the way of the future. It is not a left-wing plot. It's hard to say when Republicans left reality and became consumed with culture wars.
McCarthyism was a pretty shameful blot on the Republican past. And that was before civil rights severed all the racists from the Democratic party and sent them scurrying into the open arms of the struggling Republican Party. And now, even with the deplorable haters, Republicans cannot win elections without doing everything they can to rig them. And even with the rigging and jerrymandering, they still can't get quite enough support to reliably win the presidency (with you-know-who) so they are making preparations to simply decertify fair elections, deny Americans their vote, and let their power-brokers brazenly select who states vote for in the EC.
