LINCOLN, the CIVIL WAR and SLAVERY

Slavery played a role, but it wasn't the cause of the war. If America never had slavery, the war likely still would have happened.

If slavery didn't exist, there would never been a war.
This pretending slavery had nothing to do with it,is classic Confederate sympathizers bullshit

Lincoln acknowledged it by entering into negotuations immediately. It was faithless but done.

There were negotiations taking place prior to the 1860 Election, and the south still seceded. It wasn't enough to pass an amendment protecting slavery where it already existed. They wanted to be able to extend slavery into the territories. The Republican Party Platform called for abolishing slavery in the territories (call it the 19th Century Containment Plan), however, and that is why the south seceded from America before Lincoln even took office.

They wanted new states to decide for themselves.
As a state's right.

Not true. They didn't want new states to be able to decide at all. That's why they engaged in typical Democratic Party tactics in Kansas, to stuff the ballot boxes, and when that failed, to try to get the federal government to recognize the government in Lecompton (which Buchanan tried to back).

You'll say anything to try to sell your bs

In otherwords, you cant refute and you find your position undefendable. Dont feel badly, lots of people were subject to the Lincoln mythology. But the truth is there for those with eyes to see.

And since you cant refute, you collapse into silly aspersions.
I accept your surrender.

You can't support a pro-CSA stance without being anti-American. It's the same as being pro-Soviet or pro-Third Reich. One does not need to address a specific pro-CSA argument to truthfully point out that the perspective is anti-American.
