Correct, the NIST report concluded that the fires which were largely fueled by the contents of the offices, as opposed to the buildings themselves or the jets, caused the collapse. The report concluded that the jets alone did not cause the collapse and that had the fires not ensued the buildings would have stayed up indefinitely. The jet's however, created giant gaping holes that allowed air to enter that fed oxygen, and of course, the fires were initiated by the giant fireballs from jet fuel on impact. Its continuation was largely fed by furnishing, paper etc. I thought it was interesting that each of the two large buildings burned about the same amount of time before failing. That was not noted, but I saw that. About 10 minutes different from the respective impacts.
What I posted was a mere 300 pages of report. It appears there are thousands of pages comprising the official synthesized report, authored by hundreds of experts. Also of note is that the conclusion is essentially consistent with the conventional wisdom and what any child would conclude that day. Planes, then hours of fire, then collapse cased by planes and fire. The only surprise to me, was as above, the structural damage due to the kinetic impact did not cause the collapse, the fire alone did it, except of course as the jet impact was the proximate cause of the fire.
